The only bargains I sometimes come across is material at Dunelms..
I have purchased many items via Ebay.. but I prefer
to stay with the same supplier these days.. I use ETC for all my embroidery supplies..next day delivery and great customer support
Big hugs from London

Our thrift stores don't semm to have much fabric these days and of course I need it badly ;-)
I was quite 'bad' a few days ago. My car was having work done on it, a suburb away from home, so I visited 3 thrift stores to use some time. Collected *18* separate pieces of fabric and 6 zips -and yes, I did leave some behind for others :)
I get a lot from the charity stores in the uk. threads and fabric and always seem to find a bargain.
also freecycle is a great place.
also GS UK is great for threads and backings and always use them.
hope it helps
I suppose it depends on the area, did try but all dry, never heard of freecycle.Thank you
Do you not even have secondhand/thrift shops or garage/yard sales? But then maybe you prefer to buy new always. I enjoy seeing what I find at secondhand stores the most :)
NO garage/yard sales in U.K.maybe we are missing out.we only have charity shops and here they are played out.
I have no idea what shipping cost to Europe would be. Have you ever tried to put want you want in the cart and let the site figure shipping and then decide if if is worth it?
Trust me, we just end up spending more, and I do not know how great the sales are. Hidden gimmicks, what you need is still full price, you know, business!
Well Berny I would say that it depends which bit of the UK you are in. I am in a very rural bit of the UK but I do know where there are some good places to get bargains. They are not on my doorstep but I can have a great day out in the name of bargain hunting.
Aberkan as mentioned, the main one is at Mostyn, N Wales. Check out their website. Watson Thornton, Shrewsbury, Textile Express Oswestry and Shrewsbury. Boyes, York. Leeds Market used to be brilliant, Samuel Taylor Leeds, also has a website. Textile Ex also has a www. There are more but I need to think
Express also does www. Found www.fabricrehab.co.uk today and it looks intersting. Ebay has bargains too
Thank you for all that will check some of them out, went to Leeds for wool many times but never the Market
There used to be some fantastic shops attatched to the woolen mills. I used to visit the Golden Shuttle? near Bradford
Car boots are excellent for bargains. I forgot to add Birmingham where I was shown a 4 floor building crammed full of fabric. Aladins cave was not in it
