Prayers for her now and through the recovery process. God Bless and keep you all!!
A quick thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and encouraging words. We felt the prayers. Surgery went real smooth and no complications. PTL...They did change to an updated model which is more compact and stronger. This means she can sleep on her side without it poking her. LOL... They also placed it between muscle and tissue so she can wear a seatbelt without pressure on the area... It will take about 10 days for her tremors to stabilize from the change. Her brain has to adjust to the impulses from the monitor. It's is amazing, the technology that is available to us these days...
Thanks again for your concerns. Hugs, and much love... Terre
Glad that things are better . isn't our Lord GREAT to give a person the knowledge to invent things that can make our lives GOOD
Doesn't it seem a bit over the top to have to have surgery every time the battery needs to be replaced?? My uncle wanted that surgery, but he was too far advanced with his Parkinsons when that type of surgery was approved by the FDA. I wish your mom the very best, and hope that she will regain more of her abilities. Maybe they could replace the old batteries with rechargeable, so she could go stand next to a charger instead of having another surgery? Hang in there; I'll say a prayer for her too.
Thank you for the encouraging words. We discussed the rechargeable, but they have to be recharged everyday which means you never know when they will go dead. Maybe someday they will have one that doesn't need to be recharged so often. Thank you be great!
Have just said a prayer, but tell me, what are Essential Tremors? Is it a form of Parkinsons?
Thank you very much. ET's are very similar to Parkinsons, but not the same.
Terre, I have had your mom on my mind all day and have been praying that everything goes well.
I have lifted up your mother up in prayer. Hugs, Judy
Praying for your mother a succesful surgery. These
replacement battery operations usually go smoothly if that helps. It is amazing technology.
Thank you for the prayers and encouraging word.. Modern technology is amazing...
You can bet she will be on my list, sending good thoughts, I have essential tremors and I watch as my Dad gets worse knowing I am heading there and my youngest son got them too. My Dad is 75 and not having problems walking so hopefully we won't get it that bad.
Thanks Deb. Yes they run in my family too, but only in the female side...Mom got to the point she couldn't do anything by herself. She doesn't shake now, but still has a hard time walking because she had mini strokes during the surgery...
