You make these look so easy and beautiful. What is your trick to getting it in the hoop and all the fabric out of the way? I think I have to stretch it to much to get it over the hoop. You do a wonderful job.
Thank you. It did take a while to learn how to do this the easy way. So here is what I do. First of all I use a medium tear away and hoop it the spray with a good embroidery adhesive, I use Sullivans. Then I take the onesie and turn it inside out, fold in half, and then again so I have my center. I iron that so I've got my marking, then I take a pin and stick it throught the fabric where they intersection is... Now I take my tearaway and mark with a pencil both horizontal and paralelle lines (sp), and then I lay the fabric on top of the stabilizer and match the pin with the tearaway. Be sure you have enough spray on the tearaway, but not so much that your onesie wont stick. Once you have your onesie on the stabilizer and in the machine, then gently pull your back side of the onesie under the needle and hold it while you are appliqueing. I hope that is clear enough and not too confusing.LOL...
very cute! Alot of zeros here beneath me again, I will water everyones garden!
great job I know how hard these are.
Thanks DeVon. They are so small to work with, but they are so cute in the end. :)
Just love it! and I love Planet Applique
Thanks, I think I have almost all of PA's designs, if not, pretty close.
How adorable is that? Will you be selling these?
Thanks Shirlene... Yes these will be at the Baby Fair. I need to make a couple more of the same.Have to find more of these onesies, just in case there are some twins. There is to be over 400 people (mothers, and grandparents) to be there and only 25-30 booths, so I'm in hopes this is going to be a good thing...
Love this and the onesie. My kindergarden GD would love, love, love this design. Everything is Strawberry Shortcake or related.
Thanks. I'm sure you could do it as a shortcake design too. I remember SS being my daughter's favorite when they first came out in the 70's. LOL...
I've forgotten how tiny the newborn cloths are. This design looks so good. Do you try to put something behind the design so that it wouldn't scratch the infant?
Thanks Anita, I put soft touch, which is basically a soft iron on stabilizer. I don't think Planet Applique could make a bad applique if she tried. They sew out beautifully....
