I have a boys quilt I have almost finished. I finally started ealrier this week. I didn't say anything earlier about doing one because I didn't know if I could find time. Plan on finishing it today, but won't be able to send until late this coming week. Thanks to my crazy busy life, lol! I will try to post a picture in projects later this week also, if I get a chance to do so.
Diane
That's great Diane, WE can all understand "busy" and lots of Cuties and other friends have had LIFE get in the way. I think it just has something to do with being people who care about and for others. It will be great if you finish and get it here in time for the May trip, but the August trip will work great too! God Bless you! Jan
Mine is done! Are we supposed to put our names on them? I don't recall.I'll take a pic of the quilt and post it in projects.Let me know so I can get this mailed off, I haven't put my name on it as I wasn't sure if we were supposed to.. Thanks,
Meri
Hi Meri, Many Cuties have put their name on them, many on the Uganda label with the elephant. Many have no name on them, and some have asked me to put the Uganda label on for them, which I am doing :-) Either way is absolutely fine :-) I don't think I had your quilt in the count - so that is one more!!
had you in the for sure being finished count, so that is wonderful - one more! God Bless YOU!!! and Thank YOU too!
hugs, Jan
We now have exactly 70 quilts in our stack!!! I know of ten more that are coming from Cuties, and four from local friends! There also may be four more from Cuties that make it for the May trip and three more from Colorado. I have $110 in donations to help with extra baggage charges! Praise the Lord! God Bless you ALL! Jan
One of my bestest oldest dearest friends called me today and one of her other bestest oldest dearest friends has made four more quilts for us! These are four that weren't in any of the counts! I'll go pick them up on Friday! Praise the Lord for bestest oldest dearest friends!
definitely the bestest to have those oldest and dearest....great news Jan Hugs Glenda x0x0x0
What a fantastic job you have done coordinating
this wonderful project Jan. I am sure the children
will be delighted with all their goodies.
Big Hugs XXXXX Claudia
Thank you, Claudia. The Cuties were just so willing to help, it hasn't been hard. It has been such a blessing to be at the center and to get to touch and hold each quilt as it comes in! These kids are going to be soooo thrilled!
This has been quite a project. You know, I think the most difficult part will be to decide which child receives "their" quilt.
It almost looks like a military duffel would hold all of the quilts if they were packed in there good and tight. Good luck with that. My last ones are almost ready to be sent. Perhaps someone could create a page of pictures once the children receive their gifts?? THAT would be a huge reward!!!
The plan is for there to be lots of pictures, but they can't promise, because you know how things can go... The main thing is that no child be left out and that all receive their own special quilt in a special way. I wish I could be there too! Isn't it such a blessing to be a part of this!?!?!!!
What a wonderful site to see. Lots of love and work gone into all these quilts. May God bless all who have made them, and the ones who will receive them. Shirley
Thank you. and we'll need to pray that they arrive safely in Uganda to be placed in the hands of the children. :-)
Please, if you haven't completed your quilt yet, please let me know. You can PM me here or send a email to me at janwharton@me.com. I have a team of friends who can finish any uncompleted quilts the last week of April :-) I definitely understand that "life" can get in the way of even the best intentions - and projects :-) Hugs and Thanks, Jan
Like WOW!!!!! It's so wonderful that there are so many people willing to make for others. We as a guild were making quilts for cancer patients at CHOC house but sadly I have not been involveled lately. The biggest problem always is postage. To send anything out of the country starts off at nearly $10 for a 1kg package. Hoping to start "blanket"making for our local poor. There is a huge squatter/new township setup near our area and our church has started soup kitchens so people have food before they take ARVs. Blackets is next on our list.
Hugs and praise for the work you do.Elizabeth
Thanks for the Wow!, Elizabeth! And thank you to you for the work you do through your church too. Postage has been a big part of our Cutie's gifts in doing this, mailing from Australia and South Africa have been ridiculously expensive, and some have managed to do it in spite. Even within the US some have spent up to $20 to get their packages of love to Colorado. Our family also supports local charities for families, and the animal shelter too. We just keep digging deeper :-)

Dear Jan, how exhilarating to wake up and see this wonderful array of colourful quilts and toys each morning. Love and blessings Chris
Chris, it truly is. I know it may sound a bit trite to say I can feel the love, but it's true. I wish each of the quilts could be featured, so each shows up. I have the fabric now for each of the 7 from Linda :-) Thank you for all you have done:-)
This is just a wonderful rainbow of colour. Thank you for making this possible. Hugs Sarah.
Oh Sarah, I have been blessed to be a part of this. It was like God hit me with a lightning bolt on this project. And I'm really honored that Cuties jumped right in to help fulfill the need of all these little orphans on the other side of the world!
My eyes started leaking when I saw all the love stacked, there is a lot of work here. YOU CUTIES ARE THE BEST, I SALUTE YOU, hugs S*
My eyes leak too, whenever I open a new package at the post office with a quilt inside. When I pull the quilt out, I can feel the love. No kidding! They bring tears to my eyes. Sometimes the boxes have other handmade goodies in them!
Wowwwwwwwwww,da ward ihr alle aber sehr sehr fleissig
die Kinder werden sich alle riesig freuen
Aren't they wonderful! What's neat is I know the stories behind each one - who made it, and why!
Wonderful to see on Easter Day!
I need to take a picture of all the little goodies that go with the quilts. The plastic container is nearly full of dollies, and puppets - both finger and hand puppets, and gift baggies stuffed with hair clips for girls, and Tic Tac Toe games for boys, and stuffed animals, and bears and sunny faces! All made with love!
all made with love to these children. There are pillowcase dresses and froggies and elephants. Thank you to all for these extras that will be tucked inside the quilts for an extra loving surprise!
Awesome to see them all together. So cheerful and colorful. What a job you have with this project. Thank you for doing it.
The project has been a total joy for me too! I am honored and I appreciate all the help from the Cuties. I just knew Cuties would help - I just had no idea how deeply Cuties would care! Silly me! Thank you Cuties!
This is simply amazing it leaves a lump in my throat and a few tears all the wonderful people who have contributed their time and energy into these gifts and to you an angel without wings.....THANK YOU......soozie
When you think of all the hours of labor and love that have gone into making these, it is truly overwhelming! I am blessed by all your support! Thank you

Jan what an amazing collection of work that has been created by many Cuties. I was having a last look on the site for the night and am so glad I found this posting from you
It is truly amazing! Can you imagine all the hours spent stitching these 65 quilts?!!! And with each hour how much time was spent thinking about the little recipients! It blows me away - and I get to see them everyday.
