Thanks to all for the advise - will let you know what I decide to get.
I have a Husqvarna TOPAZ 20. I have a 120x120 mm hoop and a 260x200 mm hoop and love it. I am very very happy with what I got. DeVon
I have a Brother 5x7 and one day i would like to have a larger emb. area but I want to stick with Brother I have two more than 8 years, never had a problem with them, Babylocks too, I think they are related, I was thinking on Topaz 30, but now that Viking is made in China I have second thoughts about buying a Viking
I've had 4 Vikings & loved them. However am not totally satifisied with the Diamond for what I paid! The main thing is to read the paper work on how long it's under warr. & be REALLY sure you have a good support system from the dealer! I still have my SE as well as the Diamond. Good luck!
Anita best is to find out about backup and services. Dit is die beste om goed huiswerk te doen. Husqvarna is BAIE goed sowel as BERNINA. Vra gerus uit by die volgende borduurvergardering
Thanks Marthie. Problem with Bernina is the same as my Elna - hoops too small. Most people I know (and at the Embroidery group)have Pfaff or Bernina. I was impressed with the Ruby because of the price and the size of the hoops.
Bernina 830 has huge hoops but I agree with you re the Ruby. My daughter has one and she is over the moon. Arent you going overseas in the near future?
I have a Ruby rthat I have purchased 18 month ago, I love it, and have had never any problemBefore I had a husqvarna designer 1 with floppy disk, and I appreciate much to have designs on the machine with USB key. I have hoops 12 x 12cm (4.8 x4.8") and the great one 36 x 20 cm (14.2 x 8"), I have bought extra the 18 x 13 cm (7.1 x 5.2"), and I am very happy with those hoops and I have been able to do all the designs which I wanted. The machine loves any brand of thread, and I have very few needles broken. The machine warn when the bobbin is at the end. I had choosen Ruby rather tham Diamond, beacause the price was less high and the size of the diamond was too long for my table.
I bought a Ruby in November 2010 and I love it - had had a Designer1 since October 1998 which never gave me any problems and I hope this one will last as long. The largest hoop is 200 x 360 mm - great for a lot of projects.
I have seen them, but never used one. I have the Janome MC11000SE and I have 5 hoops. I love my machine. But it depends on what you want and if you have a good dealer close.
I had a Ruby for a short while and loved it! However, I traded-up for a Diamond because I liked the larger screen. Because they were coming out with the Diamond Deluxe they wanted to get rid of the Diamond models in stock. Since I had not had my Rudy more than a year I got an exceptional deal! Otherwise, I would still have the Rudy.
I purchashed the Ruby 18 months ago and LOVE it. I had the SE before that and now love the ability to use the larger hoops, the screen, and it features. Would recommend problem. Is your current machine from viking?
Thanks. No at the moment I have an Elna 8600 which I am very happy with - the only problem is you are extremely limited with size.
