Maze with small marble in it.

The design fitted a 200x240 mm hoop. It is made from the back of a leg of a pair of discarded jeans. I did not particularly like the bee, so I digitised a small butterfly for the next one, for which I'll use the other trouser-leg.

I'll have my grands play with them at a family gathering next Saturday and see what they think of them. It might keep them entertained between cakes, fingerfood and adult conversation. The jeans have been washed so often in their former life that they won't mind getting soiled and laundered.

The bee is sure working as it tries to get through the maze to the flower (nectar).

Oh, this looks great, Martine. Does the marble travel well in the denim? The colors are so bright and cheerful. I have to learn how to use my giga hoop for these larger designs. It would make a nice marble maze for smaller children's fingers...

Thanks. The (small) marble travels well. I had only one of that size, so for the second one I sewed to shirt buttons together and the flat shapes is even easier to push through the channels.

Oh my! Now that is a great idea...I would have never thought of that.
Thank you for the thought. I'm going to have to try that!

have either of you thought about putting a little magnet inside & then using a pen stick to guide it through the the maze? Just a thought.Hugs Loralye, PS this is great!

Thanks. No, I did not think of a magnet and I don't know if it's a slick method to use in a car or something like that (nothing that can be dropped in case of the marble).

Nice one, Martine. I rather like the bee but I think he might need some legs.

Yes, I thought so to, and added some. But the shape of the body still needs some adjusting.

mops by mops 11 Apr 2012

Oops, I thought so too.

Dank je. Een grote ring is inderdaad een plezierig bezit, hoewel ik meestal kleinere borduurseld gebruik.
