Even though I digitize I still buy a lot of designs. I like the unusual so that is what I buy. I am like 'Lique' in that I am very picky now. If I see a design I like that I can get for a great price like at EmbLibrary I buy it. I know how much time it takes to digitize and test designs so why waste my time with one that I can get for $1 and use it right then. I also buy a lot of lace designs. I haven't yet tried digitizing fsl lace.
Great question!

Yes, it seems like a lot of work if you can buy one for a dollar. But, if needed, you can really make your own unique one when you know how to digitize. I'm sure you can spend a lot of time doing it too.
Sometimes I buy a design, but I notice how much more picky I am. Sometimes I buy a design just to see how something is done and so do new ideas up.
I don't digitize, yet!, but I do appreciate a well done design. I like to study how they go together. They certainly are not all created equally.
For me both.. You do appreciate other's talents and the time it takes to digitize..even though I can digitise myself if I see a design I like from a trusted digitizer then I like to purchase..

I'm curious about digitizing (and my daughter is an artist so I could use her talents!!) but I can just see me buying too. I love the artwork in them.
There is the huge satisfaction of being able to digitise yourself and watching your own creation come to life.. but at the same time I have learnt to respect how hard this is and therefore I still purchase quite a lot lol..
I make most of my own now, but I love Kara's & Urban threads designs and if something strikes me will buy from them and occassionally from Emb Lib too. But I like unique & non traditional usually and that is hard to find....so I make 'em.....good question!!!!!
