I know the pain you are in. I've had several of those in my elbow, foot knee and back. The one in my elbow hurt like the devil that night and next day so I didn't use it because of the pain. Wen bck to the Dr. and told him. He asked if I was using it and I said no because it hurt so bad. He laughed and said that's why it hurts so much and that I had to use it and the pain would go away. Well he was right. Whenever I get them now I just keep on going and it gets better faster. Doesn't hurt to ask your Dr. to see if he tells you the same thing. Hope it's better soon.
DeVon, it looks very sore. Hope you will be feeling better soon. Hugs Sarah.
This is where I got my shot. Boy does it hurt!!! I thought it was going to help. Thanks for all the help. DeVon
DeVon, it might be normal - but unless they told you about that sort of reaction - I still would call them and let them evaluate it.
That is pretty normal for this type of shot. When I got them in my foot my doctor said it was mixed with an anesthesia. Was told to stay off my foot but without pain and it being numb did everything I should not have been doing. Hope it starts feeling better for you. Hugs.
I agree with parkermom, the injection will take at least a day to be effective, from my experience anyway
It is normal for the numbness. It is probably from a combination of things--the cortisone itself makes there be more fluid in the joint, which presses on the nerves and causes numbness. It also it probably starting to infiltrate where it needs to be,and reducing some inflammation. The numbness should pass today or tomorrow, the soreness may increase for a day, then start showing lots of improvement. Hope this helps
My daughter has had to get them in her back and had the most "strangeness" feelings on the third one--but it has also helped the most too. So maybe it's a good sign. I've had elbow twice for a pinched nerve (the funny bone nerve) and that nerve is not funny at all.
I meant I've had elbow surgery twice, not an elbow twice. Good grief at my fingers!
