I was browsing through some videos tonight on lace making, as I'm very interested in that subject. I ran across this documentary type video of the cold fashioned lace making, with three different methods. I think the lace is absolutely beautiful, and I would love to own some of this. But embroidery machines have made it obsolete. If you want to see how it is done by hand, check this out.

I just opened up You Tube and then put in Lace making in Croatia. I do Bobbin Lace every Friday. The Teacher has been doing Lace for 45 years. She would probably know all of these types of Lace.

Unfortunately the link doesn't work. I think Youtube addresses are too long for the link maker to cop with.
Many countries have a tradition of bobbin lace and there are a lot of people working hard to make sure that it doesn't become obselete. Here in UK Lace making machines have been around for about 200 years but we still have people making it by hand and passing on their skills by teaching.
There are quite a few lacemakers in the Cute family as well.
