My all time favorite pair is the VP1 model shown at the link below. They are Heritage embroidery scissors. They work both right and left handed. Super sharp little points and the finger holes are larger and coated. They have just the right curve to the blades and are 5 1/2 inches long.

Thank you. I thought maybe longer ones would work better than my short ones....especially when I'm still hooped. Maybe not, or....maybe I need 2 new pair of scissors!!!!
Try an pair of slightly curved manicure scissors. I just bought a new pair ( I spent $6) and they work great. Some embroidery scissors are so expensive and I find these to work just as well at a cheaper price. Give them a try, Susan
These are my favorite for snipping threads. the second link is all the scissors they offer! LLDS!
Another site for thought is Famore. They have a really great selection. I love the rainbow titanium snips. they also have several scissors with large sized holes for fingers, and they have a new 4.5" mini applique ducking scissor which is my newest addition. I discovered them at the first Atlanta Quilt and Sew Expo and I have been a customer ever since. Kay
I love my sidehoppers. They aren't long (only about 3 1/2" but they have a very tiny blade that cuts when you squeeze and the blade is angled.
Just a few weeks ago I dropped my wonderful little snippers that came with husqvarna machine, broke off the little tip. Welllllll I tried several different pairs (wasting money all the while - sigh) and then happened upon the neatest little pair of cuticle scissors. They are tiny little blades, super sharp, curved just right and only $6! Don't know if you'd like these but got them at Wal mart (of course) and they really are a dream.....
This sounds like the same pair I just bought at Wal-Mart. I love them! Susan
This is no kidding, when my husband had his galbladder taken out(spent a week in the hospital over it) when they removed the stitches in the hospital holding the drain tube in place I was eyeballing the scissors they were using thinking how well those would be for snipping stitches and asked to have them, she gave them to me and I wouldn't part with them for the best scissors on the market.
My husband got a fishing lure in his hand.
The nurse gave them to him to cut his fishing line. Well they are great and the
next pair they used to take out the stitches are too. I took over the scissors. I like my curved Mundial scissors better than my Gingher applique
scissors for triming appliques. They get closer. I keep a pair of small Gingher
curved scissors with larger finger holes
by my machine. olds/Maureen

These were recommended to me and I love them..
If you want scissors that cut down to the tip, check out kai. They have some informational videos that will demonstrate the different pairs. I got 8" shears for here at work, and small curve tips ones for my sewing.
Found these through Gigi at Charming station. Someone from Kai even joined the yahoo group so he could answer questions. And did I forget free shipping in the US?
Another plus for Kai scissors...free sharpening for life..just send scissors to Kai with $5.00 for postage and they will return them sharp as the day you bought them! I think you can even send in multiple pairs in one package for the $5.00 postage...These scissors are wicked sharp!
These are my can't live without.
I agree, I have these (2 ;pairs, one at each work station) and I LOVE them. got mine at Allstitch ands they were only $7.95 a pair.
Gingher has embroidery scissors that are curved to fit over the hoop....they aren't cheap, but IMNSHO the best.
I love my Gingher scissors and rotary cutter. I also think they are the best.
Hi check out these scissor guys. I have bought a lot of scissors from them at shows. They are reasonable and the scissors cut like a charm. I love the little snips, the snips with the hook and the curved ones. Suzanne
