As Martine has said, you need to have digitising software to be able to split designs and you also need to have some experience using the software that you have.
The digitisers who contribute to DBC are only fellow members, we are not affiliated with CuteEmbroidery in any way, nor do we receive payment for anything we contribute.
Most of us are not qualified as teachers, nor do we have tutorials for the multitude of digitising programs available.
You will need to learn to use whichever digitising program you purchase and you will probably need to buy tutorials to do that, the same way we all have.
There are no short cuts. I suggest you download the 30 day free trial version of Embird and play around with the EDITING module, that is where you will find the tools to split designs.
I hope you find this message informative and it is just the beginning of a whole new addictive phase in your life. :-)

You need software to do that and it depends on the brand of software HOW to do it. Every brand seems to do have its own, slightly different way.
Did you have any tutorial for the same and which software are you talking about it?
I've got 5D and Embird and both have explanations in the Help-function. I actually like the splitting function in 5D slightly better than that in Embird. Both are easy to use and easy to learn. The difficulty is deciding where to place the dividing line(s) as you don't want to go through intricate parts of the design, which can be quite a puzzle in compact designs.
