Can you cuties out there tell me what is a microwave pad? Are they applique? Do you use cotton batting? And do you use them for something special?

These were the one's I saw...but wanted to know what they are used for. Do you think maybe like a potholder?

I think they are like potholders.. for lifting out hot dishes from the microwave. Being 4x8" I dont think they'd be big enough for a hot pad.

Microwave pads? Are you talking about something that you heat up and put on your neck or body to warm up? Or are you talking about hot mitts used to retrieve hot items from the microwave? If it is the later you make them like you would any other hot mitt but some can be made ITH. You can applique on them or quilt them and you would need heat resistant batting (bought at most fabric stores). However if you are referring to the first for sore muscles etc... The they can be made with any type of fabric and batting and filled with beans, rice, pellets just about anything that will stay warm for a while. Below are a few tutorials for them

Thank you for the sites...I have made the tater baker (not ITH) and the rice packs but didn't think that was what they were. Shows ya what happens when you think. lol

I hear there is this product called "Warm Tater" from the the same folks that gives us the potholder batting. The link is below! If there is another similar product I would like to know about it. Have great weekend! Live Laugh Download Stitch!
