Cutes Thank you so much for your help. I don't work much on my machine, so I tend to for get things.
I suggest to use tear away stabilizer under and WSS on top.At least that's what I would do. Good luck.
Flannel can be finicky. I definetly would increase the bottom stabilizer. I fuse at least 1 layer to the underside because it is stretchy. Then a couple layers of tearaway will take care of the problem. Good Luck! Live Laugh Download Stitch!
on flannel try using the same thread in your bobbin as on top and it will not show
flannel is notorious for this..I always wash and dry it first so fibers become more dense..but if you have not done that ...try using 2-3 layers of stablizers on the bottom..and put your tension back to the normal setting.
My friend's embroidery machine did the same and no matter what I tried I could not stop it. Well I found out she lost her bobbin cover and used it anyway so I pulled the bobbin holder out and looked to see if it got damaged somehow. Didn't see a thing so as I was putting it back in something caught my eye. You could barely see it but some thread got caught in it. Very very carefully I got the thread out and low and behold that was the problem. Now it works beautifuly and I saved her $89.00 they wanted to look at it.
I used normal tearway on the bottom, only hooped the fabric, floated stabiliser underneath and had no problems. But if your fabric has "pile" fluffly stuff on top like terry toweling you will need to use stabiliser on top or your stitches will "dissapear" into the pile.
Success your way - Elizabeth
I would certainly use a top stabilizer if the flannel has a pile. Sarah.
