They look great. You and the ladies did a great job. Shirley
The Ladies did a great job.
Yes but gee I found it hard to explain to the ones who don't do a lot of sewing by hand.
They look really neat and great colours. You all did very well indeed!
Lyn - I have some questions. How many of these do you need? How many do you have? When do you need them by? Is it possible for you to do step by step pictures of making these. I would like to help make some of these for you - but I'm not sure where you are suppose to stitch. You all did a great job of making these. Thanks for giving us the written direction. I am just a visual person. Mylinda-
Have just checked this You Tube out. The one I did was under Simple Organza Flower. When she did the square we have folded it again as in the circle then we just added the center and back to tidy it up. Thanks for the hint on You Tube.
To answer your question. This is an ongoing thing. No Date to be needed by. No cut off date or quantity needed. Thanks for your offer. I am in Sth Australia.
They did good chatting and stitching. lol
One of the Ladies came without her DH which is the Norm, But this poor guy had the dreaded C and needed company. He came but was not sure which house it was as it is in a retirement village. He said he walked along the street until he heard all of the chattering then he knew he was in the right place.
You have 5 pieces of Fabric 7 or 8 cm square. Fold fabric twice diagonally.Face the fold all the same way when stitching. Stitch each piece one ofter the other to get 5 pleats to make the flower as you see in the pic. Pull it together, but only enough so that the circle on top covers it otherwise your flower will be a lot smaller. The top piece which has a piece of cardboard (Center of the flower is the size of the Australian Dollar (1 inch). For this you have to make a circle of contrast Fabric bigger so that you can gather it at the back. Insert some wadding between the cardboard and fabric to give a little body. Sew this onto the flower with ladder stitch. (catching the flower and then the center - back and then the center). Turn the flower over and at the back you tidy it up with a cardboard covered with fabric done the same way as the center without the wadding. This piece of cardboard is the size of the Australian 20c piece (1 and 1/10 inches - 28mm) Sew this on but when you get to about half way insert your elastic if you wish it to go around the head. Finish your sewing. Make all of your sewings secure by going around twice. Hope you can all understand this. It is easier if I can show you than explain. Lyn
