OK! I called Brother today cause I need a 5x7 machine yesterday.lol The pe 700ii is the older version. The pe770 is usb capable and you can be more mobile cause it uses the usb memory stick also.I found it on Amazon for 599. free shipping and 30 dollar discount. So for 569.88 you get newer model 5x7 delivered friday :)
yup my fiance is tired of me complaining lol so for now this will work. The pe 700ii would work also but you do not have mobility (no memory stick). If you do not have a use for the memory stick pe700 will be great..
I'd go for it. The hoop size is decent, you don't need a PED Basic to get designs from your computer to the machine. The only thing missing is smaller hoops. There are times that you'll want the 4x4 hoop or maybe even the smaller hoop. Those can be purchased from either a Brother dealer or on line.
Most designs can't be enlarge any bigger than 20% over the original design without additional software, but this applies to all designs and machines. For increasing over that you're talking about digitizing programs that are very expensive. Good Luck and let us know when you get it.
Seems like a nice machine at a good price. I paid double that 2 years ago for the machine one up from that (780D). The 5*7 size is a really good size to start with - and I still use it the most today (althought I upgraded machines last year and can do larger things). There are lots of designs in that size range and even many in the hoop projects will fit in a 5*7. Good luck and let us know if you get it.
I have a brother machine, not the same as you linked here. But I'm very satisfied with the machine. All Pes format designs you can embroider as long as it fits in the hope. Don't know about this machine, but mine can also reseize the design a little bigger or smaller. I think it's a good buy.
I have been researching the brother machines. This would be a great machine for you if you are ok with not going bigger than 5x7..I am actually going to look into buying this one myself.I have the se 400 and it is great.but too small 4x4..Great starter machine..
I don't know anything about this machine, but for mine I only use the usb link to the computer and I have all my designs stored there (I love it). Good luck in what you dicide.
This is a good machine and a good price . My daughter has this machine and it has done great . The usb cord is what everyone wants as that means you can store your designs in folder on computer and simply transfer to the machine . There are lots of free programs that will change the format for you if you cant get the pes . More free designs than you would ever use out there too. i say go for it . The hoop shown is the one you would most likely use all the time . If you want to use the cards ,there are a few good boxes that will do the job and not all that pricy . Ususally come with a program that will catalog your designs . Looks like there is a nice atarter package with this one too. The one person who asked if there is a Brother dealer close by has a good point. May need to have a repair one day .
Do you have a brother dealer in your area? I did not know Costco sold Embroidery machines. We do have one in the Atlanta area, but not close to me.I know this has to be a discounted price as all their items are. Did you check to see what it sells for at a dealer? I guess the format is Pes. A word of warning, do not buy the cards to insert as they are very expensive and many of the latest machines don't use them anymore. Many are $99. per card Before we all discovered the Internet we foolishly bought them. Silly me, I did not even have a computer when I bought my first Embroidery machine. Kay
yes! i get all my sewing machines from costco and i love it because they make sure i am 100% satisfied ^^
I have a Brother 400SE and I would buy that machine. You should check out ebay for the cost of hoops if you want smaller. It has a usb cord so it can hook directly to your computer, no extra software except maybe Wilcom or SEU for general purposes. To my knowledge designs, as a general rule, cannot be resized more than 10% or they may get skewed. Any more than that, you MUST do a test stitch before sewing on something important. Good Luck Lucky Girl.
The link is working for me..
I'm not familiar with this particular machine, but hopefully someone will come along shortly that can help you.
