I have used them for lace and they were fine sometimes had to wash out
Hi, I just saw laundry bags mention for the first time when I ordered some patterns from Chantells' Creations. Maybe if you email her she can help you. She is in South Africa. I will try to post the link..Hugs..Carol
Doesn't look like it worked. Just go here.

Hi I have found this very interesting! Will keep a look out in Joburg. Please keep us posted on what you may find rest of the country, I am going to enquire at the medical suppliers. Hugs Christine, Johannesburg
I just look these bags up..What an interesting product..good to know in an emergency,my son in law works for a medical supply comp. I am going to ask him about them and try one just because..
Sorry I tried to paste the full address - let try it in a new post.
I know one of the South African digitizers advertise them on her web. Perhaps worth wile to inquire. Not sure if it is economical though as postage might be expensive.
I do not know, if any South African Cuties has seen this site. Do not know if they are trustworthy but it might just be good for inquiry too. I see there is an address in Gauteng. http://www.wantitall.co.za/Vilene...
I had to read all the replies to figure out why you needed these. Now I understand. What a great idea. I would have never have thought of that. Cuties have such a wealth of knowledge.
I bought one from a while back and did not like the results. I would use these only if I could not find any other stabilizer. I'm glad i just bought one.
Send me a PM. I bought a box full a few years ago and could help the Cape Town Cuties with it.
I always buy mine at Bernina, Durban North. Hope this helps you.
Since this is to do with embroidery I don't think anyone will be unhappy if we should reply here on Community. It is something we, in South Africa, have little of choice of where to buy these bags so any info will be very helpful to us.
Could you not query at your local hospital or hospice for info, or even the chemist??
Hugs Bev
They would not be very helpuful - just remember this is not the USA - people are not the same and would just tell me that they don't know!!
I speak from previous experience when I have asked about other info / items!
Sorry. but would it be possible to give us a pic. I live in South Africa and am not sure of the kind/type of bags you are looking for?
The clear plastic type we use on top of towels etc that dissolves in water!
Unfortunately I don't have any so can't post a pic nor do I have a supplier name!
Hi Cheryl, I will post a pic in the morning. It looks like a clear dustbin bag, but much thicker. Works like a bomb I bought stacks at one of the Elna shops
I have 2 sources. Avenue Medical and Texoma Wheelchairs. Texoma bags are sturdier and harder to dissolve (taking boiling if several layers are used for FSL), but then you can use fewer layers. I like using one layer of Ave Med and one of Texoma for FSL
Do a google search for water soluble laundry bags. Then you can narrow your search among the answers for your area.
