I have 2 sizes of applique scissors that work great! The small ones sit by my machine to snip threads and the larger ones (with the duck-bill) are necessary for long straight cuts close to the stitching line. Live Laugh Download Stitch!

Mine are Gingher applique scissors (duck bill type). They are super sharp.

I bought specialty applique scissors at the sewing dept. and it made a huge difference in trimming close and uniform without to much hand fatigue.

I use two pair, the duck billed ones for long straight or gently curved areas and a tiny pair of curved manicure scissors for small intricate areas.

With duckbill embroidery scissors you are less likely to cut the stitches around your applique. Joyce

I use really sharp pointed ones - Gingher is a great brand. If you can get a small duckbilled pair they are great too. Love Chris
