I love the effect you got from the serger thread! I'll be using this tip for all my vintage color work designs from not on! Thanks for sharing, Hugs and *'s, Deb
Looks lovely - I like it without the shine. Given me something to think about. Sarah.
My mom made a sheet with simular charaters for me when I was little, brings back memories! lovely!
Very nice work. I remember hand stitching this design on teatowels in the 1960's while I was traveling to work on the steam train. I had half hour journey each way so worked on my hope chest. Hugs Joyce
I learned how to embroider on stamped dish towels, with these designs! How quickly they can go now. Much easier on the fingers. Very pretty.

I'm not so keen on hand work, I can't sit still that long so it loses it's fun! This I can do!!
never would have thought of serger thread - thanks for the hint!
It is adorable - my Mother loved little blue birds like this on her kitchen towels.
The bird looks like the one I remember my mom making when I was young. Love it
Great job. I have this set or a similar one and they stitch out so nice.
Looks great will give it a go . Reminds me of the 6 dozen tea towels that I hand embroided in the train on my way to work back in the sixties for my hope chest. They have wiped many a disn in the last 47 years of marriage. Joyce
6 dozen??? you must have had a very big hope chest! have you used all of them yet? were they kind of in sets with similar designs, etc? I am fascinated by this as you can tell.
I purchased them with the designs stamped on ready to embroider. I also had books of the iron on transfers to add to linin myself. Joyce
It looks really nice sewn in serger thread. Something I have not done. Shirley
There is a $1 for one day set at Stitch Delight today if anyone wants to try this method -can't remember what the minimum purchase is, but not much!
Terrific job, your serger thread worked very well for this project.
WELL YOU DID A TERRIFIC JOB BECAUSE IT DOES LOOK VINTAGE THANKS FOR THE TIP!
That is so cute! I have some old pillowcases from my grandmother, and they have that same "look" to it. I can't wait to try the serger thread!
When I first got my emb machine, I used serger thread because that is all I had I still like the look of it. You did a great job here!!
Thank you, I often test with serger thread, but I think this turned out very well.
Love this and your right on thread look. My Mother had a laundry bag with this type bird on it when I was a baby and it was a total climb the crib for it experience to show how much I adored the birds with colored flowers. Looks wonderful!
