Thank you so much for sharing your secrets - good luck in your business and hope you have to stitch up many many more!
I love your ideas and colors. I have made ear ring holders, covers for date books, and eye glass covers, but never used them in my hoop because the hoop is too small. I LOVE your fabrics. *4U ><>
WOW ... these are really beautiful - which one would I pick?? that would be the dilemma - oh well, gotta take them all-LOL ... fantastic job ... ***4u
Wow! What delightful bags and all the extras that go with them are just perfect!! Love the colors, They all look fantastic!
Maryjo these are truly amazing - such an eye for fabric combination. I have just made my first tote bags (diaper bags) however they don't hold there shape as well as yours. They are made from rubber backed curtain fabric to try and get some stiffness - can i be so bold as to ask what is your secret - do u use iron on fabric stiffener between two layers? ONce again tremendous results and good luck with the sales (you wont need luck - they speak for themselves) * 4 u
I use a heavy wt. iron on stabilizer on the lining of the bags to make them stiff. And a piece of plastic mesh in the bottom between the outside and lining. That helps to keep the bottom stable and flat.
What kind of plastic mesh? i love the round handles. Tell me how you make them. Do you cut your own patterns or do you buy them? Do I ask too many questions?
I use the plastic mesh that you get in craft supplies. It comes in sheets, and I cut it to fit the bottom of my bags.I stitch it to the outside of the lining before I put the lining in the bag. I make my own patterns. The roundish handles are just a flat handle that I fold in half and stitch together except for about 3" at the ends where it attaches to the bag. It is much easier to attach the handles when they are flat. Ask all you want, we're all about sharing around here.
thanks for sharing your "how to's". I am a novice at all this forum stuff, want to post some of my quilts bags and bits and pieces up for comments, but need DH to help me take photos etc. It will happen in time bunch of * for sharing lol - blackie
Boy you sure keep busy, wish I could find time to concentrate on finishing my projects...have an order for 9 golf towels and have 2 more to go, seems to be taking me forever...Very nice job Maryjo..
These bags were all made before I started my job. I now work in an embroidery shop about 25 hrs a week. Plus I have 8 Grand kids that take up a lot of my time so I don't know when I'll get any more made.
Really nice collection. I like the fabrics you've used.
Lovely bags and bits and pieces, I bet they will sell well!! They are professional, which is the key selling.
really fantastic collection maryjo! I'm getting a severe itch to make a bag lol......must wait till my hol is over though. flower for you
Very nice bags and very professional, I only just made my first bag and liked doing it.
oh wow! I'm looking at professional here, very nice maryjo *4U
Thanks, I enjoy making them when I can find the time. Haven't done many with embroidery on them. The pink one has a small orange butterfly embroidered on the ribbon and the one on the far left has an Fsl butterfly pin attached to it that can be removed and worn elsewhere.
