This is beautiful! Congratulations Meganne and Nini for the stunning work! Love and hugs, Yoriko
This is an exceptional work!
Whether the quality, that by the time spent digitizing, that the positioning without a trace of all the elements of embroidery.
Nini, you have succeeded at one time or did you several tries?
Your mom will be very emotional about it.
Congratulations to you two ladies and happy birthday to your mom.
It's fabulous work!
Thank You, for your kind words! After having tried each separate element, I followed the precious instructions Meganne gave me and suceeded in putting it together in three hoopings.
This is amazing. Beautiful work to both of you.
Very impressive !
Love Cathie
Now that this is done Maria, can you please explain to us the meanings of the 4 different sections. Love and blessings Chris
Yes I can. #1 the simbol of the Huet, of french origin; #2 of the Bacelar, of portuguese origin;#3 of the Sotto Mayor, of spanish origin and #4 of the Pinto. Love n blessings, Maria
Nini, muito lindo!
Essa nossa amiga Megane, não é fácil... ela é fantástica!
Parabéns as duas!!!!!
Obrigada, Dilceia! Meganne é fantástica, de verdade! Só ao fazer este bordado me apercebi que a maior parte dos Huet de Bacelar está no seu lindo país - o Brasil. Mais um ponto comum, não? Beijos!
Well now this big sookie is really teary eyed! LOL!!
I am amazed at this piece of artwork and every time I look at it I can't believe I digitised it. LOL!!!
But I do remember those darn grapes and the nightmares I had about them (when I got a chance to sleep, that is.:-)) hahaha! And the 'grape' jokes around here were just the pips!!!
And the love and support (and jokes) from my friends and Ray were.... well we won't say what they were, suffice it to say, even with my terrible memory, I don't think I will never forget digitising this piece of history.
On a serious note, I am honoured and proud to have been given the commission to create such a valuable treasure and Maria did a pretty great job stitching it out too.
For those wanting the specs, there were eleven separate sections digitised, with the left hand scrolls being duplicated and mirrored once I was satisfied with them. After starting each section I brought each of them into a master and organised the placement and sizing, before splitting each section back out to continue working on them individually.
Maria's largest hoop was roughly a 5 x 9 inch as each side is 4.49 x 8.77 inches.
The left side (as you look at it) has 33,022 stitches, originally digitised for 8 colours & 12 thread changes, but Maria chose to do the scrollwork different colours and they look even more fantastic than the two tone green.
The right side is 4.37 x 8.5 inches (because it overlaps the left side) has 37,880 stitches, 19 colours and 22 thread changes.
The Crown section is 5.61 x 4.02 inches, has 13,602 stitches, 14 colours and 14 thread changes. (gee I planned that well didn't I? :-))))
There were lots of tiny unavoidable jumps especially between the red tiles, that were all digitised individually, because they weren't all the same.
And did I tell you Maria has keys to Fort Knox????
Such a beautiful lady is Maria, and I am lucky to have yet another lovely friend.
Hugs and roses to all, Meganne
PS, I noticed one of the Saphires fell out of the crown, such a shame when stones don't stay put.
Meganne, I am the one who is honoured to have this piece of history digitized by you. All the hours this kept you awake, all the care, the love you put in every detail, there is nothing in the world (even the keys to Fort Knox!!!)that can pay it!
There were moments that I doubted to be able to put it together. But, dear friend, you gave me precious directions and I DID IT!! (I failed with the saphire, I confess!!LOL). I'm the one to be proud of being your friend!
Thank you for being there, thank you for caring, thank you for being such a special lady! Hugs n blessings, Maria
Ah Maria, I am so sorry the material slipped on you stitching the crown, but you still did an excellent stitch-out and as long as you are happy, that is all that matters. hugs and blessings to you and your Mum.
It is a beautiful design!!! Meganne has done an outstanding job, I can see how many hours of work it must have taken, just one of those curls alone takes hours to get it perfect.
Multi hooping is not easy to do without any gaps showing, but you made a flawless stitch out.
Great work, both of you!
Your mother will be so happy!
Thank you for your kind words! Meganne is the one to praise.
As to the "flawless" stitch out, Meganne quickly discovered my falling saphire!!!LOL
Maria, my dear - I have been thinking of doing the Renshaw coat of arms - now seeing this - I might have to get to work and ask for some help to get it done - as you did. What a great job Meg - you did a super job here. It is a lovely work of art and I am sure your Mum will love and treasure it and when it gets passed down through the ages - the others will, as well. Stunning!
Laughed out loud when I saw this comment!!!!! I don't blame you - that job took months!!!!!!! to do. Love Chris
Shirlene, I think Meg will have to let some time pass before she stops "dreaming" (I think we must say "having nightmares") with the grapes on the shield LOL. This has a great value for Mum and me - besides the family value - it is a work that was done just on the other side of the world, showing that friendship has no frontiers. It is a true work of love, patience and talent of a special lady - Meganne. It will be treasured for ever!
was done on the opposite side of the world, showing that friendship has no frontiers. It represents a lot of care, love and talent from a special lady - Meganne. So it will be treasured for ever.
IT IS AMAZING!!! AS EVERYTHING MEGANNE DOES AND YOU DID A BEATURIFUL JOB TOO, YOUR MUM WILL LOVE IT!!!!
Museum quality piece of artwork! Meganne should be wearing that crown. It's amazing what we accomplish through our friendships. So proud of you girls.;)

I find sometimes words can't say whats in our hearts for our cute family .We are truly blessed with ones like Meg. that go above and beyond words Carolyn
I second that, Carolyn! And for us, those whose mother tongue is not English, it is further more difficult to express our feelings in words. Lucky me that have the help of our Cuties to do so! Hugs, Maria
Wow what an awesome gift and what an awesome thing for Meganne to do. Sometimes I hate getting used to new technologies but this is one I love since it has made things like this possible and have friends all around the world. Guess we could refer to this as a blessing. You two ladies are wonderful.
Donna
Thank you, Donna. Meganne is a special lady. My mother became fan of new technologies when she saw what true universal friendship can achieve.I'm blessed to have found Cute and all these marvellous ladies
Absolutely beautiful. Wonderful work from both of you. Was a great idea to do it in embroidery to make it a family heirloom to treasure forever.
Amazing! What a wonderful job both of you did, I am sure your mum will love it.
What a wonderful treasure to keep I think that it will loved for a very long time
Well, I have had the pleasure of seeing this beind digitised and boy oh! boy what a mammoth task this was for Meganne to do! It is truly an awesome piece of work and to think it's gone to the other side of the wordl and will be passed down through the generations is mindblowing to say the least.
Meganne has such a generous heart and is so talented. I am so thrilled to see this finished Nini. Well done to the both of you. Words can't convey how special this is. Love Chris
Thank you, Chris for helping me to express my gratitude to Meganne. She was so anxious to finish it with the utmost perfection that sometimes I begged her to slow down and take care of herself. I'm not able to express my feelings in words.
How beautiful. Meganne is truly an angel to help us all out when we need something special. I am sure this will bring tears to your Mother's eyes when she sees it. I hope you will take lots of pictures for us. How big is the picture.
I am sure your Mom will treasure this and what a keepsake to hand down to future generations.
Great job to both of you....
Hugs: Jerri
Yes, Meganne is truly an angel. She put such care and love in this project that I'll allways be in debt towards her.I'm posting a photo of Mom in personal. Thanks for looking! Hugs: Maria
Oh wow, what a lovely present for your mom... and how superb is the digitising that Meganne did. Wow, Cuties really rock
Wow Meganne, this is very impressive, It looks to be quite large, is it a multihooping project? Thanks for sharing it! LLDS!
Yes it is. I had to hoop it three times in a 5x7 hoop. Meganne kindly digitized it and I embroidered it. It was a complex amd difficult task but the final result is brilliant, don't you think so?
