Everyone already answered and said everything that I was going to say.
Have to admit that many times I throw away the tiny pieces.

I see that you have already gotten the answers that I was going to suggest. It always works for me. Hope you find it helful.
Just damp the edge it sticks together, dissolve the very small pieces, keep in closed jar in fridge will last a few days, use like a starch.
I piece mine together with a glue stick and iron out any wrinkles with a low iron.
I agree with blueeyed blonde I have done this too Also try to keep it in a plastic air tight containor as it will dry out & then ??????????????
I have the same problem. I like the ideas posted will try some of them. Thank you.
I tried just damping my finger and running it on the edge and joined another piece and did again until I had a size I could use - worked for me. I have two small bags - one inside the other and I put the thin in one and thicker in the other. Dampening it works just as if you were gluing the pieces together.
For the fim type of water soluble stabilizer:
You can place over lapped pieces on a large piece of Brown paper bag and then cover with another piece of Brown paper bag.
Then with your iron set to medium low to medium heat start to press on the top layer of the brown paper. Press up and own for a few seconds in one spot then move over to another spot on the brown paper.
After pressing the whole area lift the top layer of brown paper and see if all the pieces are fused together. If not press again.
This should form one whole sheet of the water soluble stabilizer so you can use it again.
You can stitch the pieces together with water soluble thread to form sheets the size you need for your hoop.
Wow, DeVon, that's a lot of leftover stabilizer! I have heard you can re-dissolve it water in a flat pan, like a cookie sheet, Then, depending on how thick it dries, you can reuse it. You may even have a nice thick piece to use for FSL! I don't know what to do with Vilene scraps, though, do you? Does anyone?
I don't think that works. use it as a topper on your fsl. Piece it together or add water and dissolve it,it works as a starch for your fsl. Do the same with vilene
If you do use it as a starch they say it will grow mold after awhile and you can add a teaspoon of alcohol and keep it in the fridge.Label it so no one consumes it
thanks to the both of you. This was before I learned how to cut the right amount. LOL Thanks again
I use the pieces to cover fill designs. I also dissolve it in water to stabilize fabrics. I do organza and satin.
