I applaud your initiative only 15 and a little business lady. Good on you I say in these difficult times.
You may or may not realise that Paypal charges you too for using them and you will ofcourse have to pay that to your brother. Have a chat with him and see what arrangement you can come to and I would like to wish you luck with your venture.

As I know you under 18 so the question is: Are you contractive capacity in our country? In Germany you could only do something like this with the permission and under control of your parents/ legal guardian until you are 18 and come of age. This should be the first step :o)

Maybe you could start with selling them on little markets in kindergarten or schools? This is the perfect audience for something like your little owls ;-)

Why not try selling your things on e-bay first just to see if there is a market out there for them. If they sell then set up the web site. Good luck. Marg

Marg here in Germany you have to be 18 to create an ebay-account. Don't know how they handle this in other countries.

Hopefully your brother was only joking about wanting a cut. Your owls look great -I hope they and your other stuff do sell well for you.

I think it's great that you want to have your own business and it would be nice if your brother could help you. BUT...Paypal is not free and that is probably why he wanted to charge you a fee. That is just one of the many things to learn about business..many many things to consider.

What kind of items will you be selling?

You should open your own PayPal account. You will need a bank account for the funds to be transferred from PayPal to your bank. I think your PayPal account must be in the same name as the bank account name. If you have trouble opening a PayPal account they are good about directing you.

Your brother should have offered to help you set up your own account. Shame on him for wanting a fee from you. You have asked at the right place. Cuties that are complete strangers may be more help to you than your brother. So sad. All Cuties love to help everyone that needs it.

You can get a basic PayPal account for free.

You are going to need a domain name which you can get from 'Network Solutions'. They have a form to help you try domain names to see if they are already taken. Just keep trying until you find one that is available.

Merchant Moms is a good place to host your website and it includes a good shopping cart. Merchant Moms has a good plan that is only $12.99 for a starter site. That is all you will need for now. Other Cuties may have some additional recommendations.

I have to answer your question of "do you think people would buy from me" with a question. What are you going to sell? Sounds like your brother is older than you, just maybe he would sit down with you and help get an account for you. Not sure if there is an age requirement with paypal. Why don't you just open your own paypal account. It's simple and won't cost you anything.
I only buy online if I can use paypal.
