Thank you for posting this. Also thanks to the cuties that supplied sites to check out. I was able to find what I needed. Shirley
I don't think it makes sense digitising one.
1. The smallest size has an 8"x9" front part, which would require a large hoop; the medium and large size are of course bigger.
2. The Australian pattern requires lining the piece, so you could only stitch the side seams on the embroidery machine. They recommend stitching the seams flat - which would have to be done on a sewing machine. Stitching fabric and lining together (on the sewing machine) only takes one continuous seam.
Just seen that the link did not work. The set "loss" is in the category "for children". There are beautiful samples of sets.
Greetings, Bettina
This is a great idea if it is possible to digitize one. Sorry but I can't digitize. Our sewing group will be making the little quilts as one of our charity projects.
I found an Australian site with a pattern for premie gowns. Go down and click on Hospital baby gowns. There is also a link for knitted gowns.
There must be quite a few"patterns of these little gowns out there, when my grandson was born at 18 weeks still born, the wonderful volunteers from the Adelaide women and childrens hospital supplied a beautiful gown and quilt to my daughter for him, and a lovely quilted and embroidered "Memory Box", despite our sorrow at the time, they provided a little ray of sunshine, at a very difficult time.
From the needle of Anne has a set specially made for the loss of a baby.
In Germany "Die Hobbyschneiderin" is a big community and there is a special part whit instructions for sets. They make them for hospitals to give them to the parents who had this tragic loss so they can enrobe their babies. Here we call these babies "Sternenkinder" (starchildren) or "Schmetterlingskinder" (butterfly-children) but I did not found a word in english. To see the pics you register.
Greetings, Bettina
Most of the instructions have photos or pictures to follow. If you need help feel free to send me a PM :o)
