I will be lifting you up in my prayers for our dear Lord to meet all your health and neighbourly needs! God will prevail; just claim it and believe it on the neighbour matter, and do the same for your medical needs. God will keep you! He always comes through... His plans and timing may not be ours, but they are perfect! Praying for you RIGHT now!! Hugs and God Bless!! ro
That is a lot to think about. Hope the next few days go by uneventfully and you can recover from your surgery. Blessings. Live Laugh Download Stitch!
Surgery won't be for a couple of months. They are trying to get rid of an infection at the moment and went to another dr and he says it is a similar problem but not the one the first dr said it was. So I guess another dr will be probing around. Thank you for your kind words
Capoodle's advice is very good. A higher fence is also the best solution for then the neigbour cannot tease your doggie. He is very cute and innocent. I hope your surgery goes very well and your recovery is successful..Can you not board your doggie for one night? It might take the worrying off your mind and allow yourself a stay overnight for in case of complications (not that there will be any, but so that your can rest and sleep off the aneasthetic.) Praying for your healing and peace of mind.****
I thought about boarding him...but the last time we boarded our cat when we went on a trip they broke his tooth. Worries me. Boarding him was $212 at a vet's office for 2 weeks and the cost for another vet was $650 to fix him. I plan to check out a couple of places sometime after the infection is under control. I have heard these are super places. But I wonder how a spoiled dog would take to them. The one place in the next town over is the one I am going to check out first. At least will all that is going on I have time to do a thorough checking. With the cat it was spur of the moment and we didn't know beans about boarding a pet.
couple places. One is in the next town over. It is said to be great. Air conditioned, you name it. Sparky can't take the heat so that's why I am checking out that one first.
You must get evidence of the neighbour interfering with your dog.
I caught our neighbour clouting my dog with her pool pole and when I confronted her, she was a nusance until she moved a few years ago. I never had a cell phone then to video her.
If your dog does yap and bark you can train it by using a water spray.
hope all goes well with your stay in hospital,
Hugs Bev
Sparky love water he would only be disappointed I wasn't turning the hose on him. ty for your kind words
Can you board him for a night? That may be safest for him.
Praying that your surgery goes well and you recover quickly.
Sparky is a terrier, they tend to bark at most movement. That is what they do. Training at this point is probably not the answer. When you are back on your feet training could be the solution.
Can your Veterinarian board him for a night or two?
I agree with the others about your neighbor, take lots of pictures of him harassing Sparky.
As others have said, leave him unlaundered clothing item or towel. It will make him feel calmer.
Best wishes on you surgery.
Double hugs,
Bonnie
Never thought about leaving an article of clothing. Thanks for the idea. Our current vet doesn't board animals and the last one broke our cats tooth the day we went to pick him up after a trip. But will be checking into boarding him.
Sparky is adorable!! The neighbor teased him early on in an aggressive manner, so now Sparky feels somewhat threatened by his presence! Understandably so!!
As others stated, items with your scent will help soothe him, until your return. Perhaps the surgery you are having may be done as "outpatient", and you will be back home the same day! Best wishes on your surgery, and for Sparky!
Hugs,
Angel
AWWWWW Sparky is cute, is he a scottie? terrier maybe? Neighvor sounds like an animal hater & of course Sparky is going to bark at him when he has teased him. I hope everything goes well with your surgery and like Stella say's, do leave him something of yours to comfort him in your absence./Lillian
Yes he is a Scottie. And he isn't vicious, he is more of a lover. Thank you for your kind words and ideas.
I hope your surgery goes well and I hope you have a speedy recovery. Sparky is a cutie. Too bad you have to deal with neighbors such as the one you described. Hopefully a higher fence will end the situation for you. Hugs, Mary
Thank you, and the fence will at least keep the neighbor from 'thrusting' his arm at Sparky. The fence is half way done.
So sorry to hear of your surgery - I will pray for a quick recovery and also a means to the situation with Sparky and the neighbor.
You got to love this face. Isn't it normal for dogs to bark once someone passes bye? That's their job to alert you. There is always some crazy person to complain about barking. Your housemate has probably learned in the meantime how to pick up a dog. I am sure everything will turn out OK. Take care of yourself.
Hi, we haven't talked in a while. I have learned the neighbor suffers from something caused by 'Agent Orange'. That's no excuse, sorry for what I'm about say, be it a dog or a MAN that is a menace the same rules apply. I feel if the neighbor is a menace because of an illness there are places for him.

Now that is a vicious face...yeah right. He's lovely. Hope all goes well for your operation & that Sparky gets on alright with you gone.
Sparky looks adorable. PLEASE leave him a shirt/blouse you have worn(dirty)not laundered so he can smell your scent. This gives them a sort of security especially if you are absent for a few days. Here's hoping you get home quick.Stella
I am thinking strongly about this one. That and a stuffed animal of his with my scent on it. Sparky sneaks onto my bed at night and that could help get a scent on the stuffed animal. thanks
Hope all goes well with your surgery and the dog situation.
PEOPLE SURE CAN BE AN ASS.THEY LIKE TO TEES PUPPIES THEN WOUNDER WHY WHEN IT GROWS UP IT HAS ISSUES..I WISH I WAS CLOSER TO YOU I WOULD TAKE HIM FOR YOU..DO YOU NOT HAVE A BORDING KENNEL HE CAN GO TO...AS FOR THE FENCE YOU CAN PUT UP A 6 FOOT FENCE AND THERE IS NOTHING YOUR NEIGHBOUR CAN DO SORRY FOR ALL YOUR TROUBLE..I WISH I COULD HELP YOU.BUT ALL I CAN DO IS PRAY FOR YOU...LUCY
TY, we live in a senior mobile home park and asked last Nov for permission for the fence. We WAITED and WAITED and now as we put it up on our own we are told it is OK so WE neighbors can get along.
Some people just like to be instigators and cause trouble. If you see your neighbor putting his arm over the fence again I would tell him you are going to let Sparky have a go at it. Of course snapping a picture to have evidence that he stuck his arm over on your side. lol Then there is the firm "NO" you might have to use to get Sparky from barking. I would say something like this to him when he starts to bark, "Sparky (say his name to get his attention) NO Bark." Praying for a successful surgery for you and for your neighbor's issues to be resolved.
We asked to put a higher fence up last Nov. but I guess I was suppose to actually see what the neighbor was doing. Sparky is getting a firm no and sometimes a swat on the rump (which breaks my heart doing). If he is true to his breed it is said if someone does a Scottie wrong he will never forget. So far he is true to his breed. I have my 'teeny' cam corder by the door now and have let the neighbor know I will record him.
hurts a Scottie he will never forget. So far he is true to his breed. I will figure something out.
