The flag is a great idea and the photos are marvellous!!! Just looking at the peacefulness is bliss.
It is peacful when we go we try to avoid peak holiday times. There is just one car in the distance on the beach .Joyce
Joyce, you did a great job with your flag - does anyone every move them?
Everyone seems to leave them alone as they all have markers of their own. There is only one way on and off the island so if anyone plays up they are soon spotted by the Island cops and are escorted to the barge quick smart. Hugs Joyce
Shirlene and I think alike...lol. I wondered the same thing when I saw and read about the flag.
I am glad to hear that they don't mess with them - that could cause some trouble - it is wonderful to know - that others have them - as well and that it is special to show where you live - that way.
Nice marker and thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures.
You are welcome I just thought that it would be another slant on sewing. Joyce
It's great Joyce and a very handy idea. I could use one of those when I head to Vic's Ninety Mile Beach to mow my block, which is only a couple from this beach. We have some very nice spots to look at, don't we all?
Great photo looks like a beaut beach. all the people camping on the ocean side have markers and Oh Boy do they have some strange and funny ones. Some make sculptures of fishermen very cleaver sometimes a XXXX beer flag. Or things that wash up with the tide. Hugs Joyce
love your pictures! And to be able to do a nightly feeding of the dolphins would be awesome! They are my favorite! I finally go to go on a dolphin encounter - was wonderful (except where we were they were trained). Your pictures make me want to go.
I love dolphins too we I never get tired of watching them. These animals are watched over by animal protection and the University has a site on the island to study the breading and Welfair of the bay animals.
This is a sand Island . This is the vehicle ferry that we travel on to the island. It carries all goods to Island 4x4 buses . 4x4 cars and transports all road are sand . Joyce
This boat called the MI Cat carries six lanes of cars has a (Snack bar/resterand) and viewing deck it may look small here but is a giant . It opens at the front to disembark the vehicles. This new cat takes about 40 minutes to cross the bay where the old one took an hour from the mouth of the river.
This new cat takes 40 minutes to cross the 30 miles of the Bay where the old one took over an hour. Hugs Joyce
Nightly Dolphin feeding at Tangalooma resort. Moreton Island
wow this is incredable! we saw some every evening when we went to New Smyrna (Florida) but not even close to this up-close! wowow
You have to be a guest of the resort to actually feed the wild dolphins (about 12 Dolphin turn up) but anyone on the Island can come and watch the dolphin show for free. They run a fast ferry service from Brisbane for tourists to the Island to see the show have dinner there and return to Brisbane. Tangaluma was once a whaleing station which stoped operating in the 1960.
Beautiful place, beautiful piece! Wish I could be there in person! Live Laugh Download Stitch!
The flag and the scenery are both BEAUTIFUL. Where is Moreton Island?
Moreton Island is at the mouth of Moreton Bay Brisbane Australia It is a 2 hour boat ride from Brisbane. This is the Ocean beach the bay is on the other side of the island. On the bay side is a big resort but we prefer the natural side of the Island. Hugs Joyce
I would prefer the nature side too. Are you from Australia or just on vacation/holiday? Your photos are wonderful. The ferry looks like a yacht. So nice to see other parts of the world, even if it is in pictures.
I am from Brisbane Australia so Moreton Is. is one of the many Islands In Moreton Bay Captaun Cook sailed right by not knowing that he missed a wonderful bay. It was left up to explorer mathew Flinders to discover it and our Brisbane River. Joyce
I love the dolphins . The is a national park park rangers look after the sea creatures . We also have Dugong (Manates) in our bay and protected Whales.
