I have 5 hoops that I managed to get with my machine. I have the FA 2X2, 2.9X4.3, 8X8, MA which is I believe an 8X11 and then I have the aqufil hoop (which I think is 8X6). I haven't used all the hoops yet, but I will. Just haven't done bigger projects yet.
oops, the 2.9X4.3 should read 4.9X4.3 - which is also the one I've used the most so far.
I have the Quattro - equivalent to the BabyLock Ellisimo. I have all but the continuous hoop (tiny, 4*4, 5*7, 6*10, 8*8, and 8*12). I do lots of ITH projects and most of them use the 6*10 or smaller. I have used the 8*8 for quilt blocks (Anita Goodesign) and used the 8*12 for ITH (and larger designs) before I got the 6*10 but I really don't use the 8*8 or 8*12 all that often. It kinda depends on what type of things you enjoy making how much you might use the bigger hoops.
Judy, my hoop sizes are 8x12;8x8;6x10;5x7;4x4 and then a small sized hoop. I do love my largest hoop for some ITH projects and for large designs that might go onto a pillow or such. Each hoop seems to get used often but, I can't actually say which is used the most. It depends on the project. Hugs to you, Laura*
I just remembered my machine also has a continuous hoop - I believe it is 8x17.
Always. I love to work with 200 mm x 200 mm hoops. i have 2 of them. I even have 2 hoops of 200 mm x 280 mm.

Judy, which machine do you have? And what is your largest hoop? I wish I had an 8x8 hoop. I was taught to use the smallest hoop for the project that it would comfortably fit in. However I find when working with applique that a ample larger hoop than necessary makes it easier to trim away the applique.. Maybe my arthritic hands are the problem. Kay
I have the Janome 1100SE so my biggest is the 8 by 8. I was thinking of the Janome 12000 or the Babylock Gold Ellisomo. The babylock dealer is new in my area. The Janome dealer is a man that I don't think sews. His wife is sick so I am not sure if he can help that much. My machine is in the shop and to get it cleaned is taking 2 weeks. Not sure if I want to purchase a new machine with him..
My machine is in his shop and it is taking 2 weeks for a cleaning. Not sure if I want to buy a new machine from him. Janome dealer is also new.My old dealer is out of business.
I have a Babylock Ellisimo Gold and I love it. I was lucky enough for it to be bundled with 3 years of free service at any Babylock dealer. It also came with a continuous hoop.
It seems that I usually use my 5 x 7. I make a lot of labels to go on the back of my quilts soooooooooo 5x7 give me the room to add my name and a small design. Good ole Eleanor Burns says "Never make a quilt without a label 100 years from now somebody will want to know who made it. So if Eleanor says it it must be so and I try to be a good little do-bee. DO-BEE anybody remember this? hahahahaha
I use all of my hoops. I use my quilting hoop most of the time, it is 5.5x7.9 and my 8x8 is used just about as much.
But love my 4.3x4.9 as well, but enjoy using my 7.9x11.4 as often as I can. I seem to work in the same hoop for days, then switch and again for days, then switch again.
Have used my quilting hoop almost everyday since the first of the year...
The one i use right now is200x260 i use it daily and it is 9x12 hugs
I use the most often the 4X4 and the 5X7, a little the 10X6, and scarcely the 15 X6
I am sure that my husband would love your answer!! I haven't told him, yet!
Very often. I rarely use my 5x7, but use my 4x4 and 7x12 lots.
Hi Judy....I use my large hoop 90% of the time...not the mega hoop but the one that does up to 9.5" high....Vicki
