Most digitzer that sell FSL designs usually recommend 40 weight embroidery thread( Rayon or Polyester) for stitching FSL for best results.
They usually recommend using it as top thread and in the bobbin.
If you want to use cotton thread for FSL then try a 50 weight 2 ply good quality cotton thread in the top and bobbin.
I know Aurfil makes a 50 weight, 2 ply cotton thread and it doesn't give off a lot of lint in the bobbin area.
When using cotton thread just make sure to clean the lint out of the bobbin area often.

thanks yes I am finding a lot of lint in bobbin case after just an hour stitching with the polyester thread even..
Whatever thread that I use on the top I also use in the bobbin. I use Hemmingworth polyselect for a finer look or Robinson-Anton rayon thread for a slightly heavier lace. Hope this helps .Hugs Joyce
yes this helps but I am finding this an expensive project with beautiful threads like these two...I know if you want a lovley job pay the extra money....Kerry
Hi Kerry,
Sorry I wasn't on here yesterday as we had some of our family here for dinner and I was busy!!!!!!!!! cooking etc.
I haven't made any John Deer designs in FSL, but did do a ZUNDT DESIGN of a coaster. I used DRAGON thread top and bottom Rayon or Polyester thread it doesn't say on the bottom of the spool what weight it was I'm sorry to say. Love Chris
Oh My mistake then Chris, thought you did. Was thinking of some napkin holders. Anyway my trail and error and some good advice off here all helps me out. Hope you dad a lovely dinner with family, hug Kerry
