Good one! Better not tell my hubby this one! I'm sure he can relate - to a point - as I also sometimes get involved in my sewing/embroidery and then he phones that he's on the way home (from work), I go "YIKES" - rush, rush, rush get some supper on in a hurry! Oh well, good thing I have items I can put together for a quick, good meal (at least he thinks it's great). I just make up for it with a fanatastic meal, etc. later(but a maid would be nice - I wouldn't teach her to embroider as I wouldn't want to lose her - hehe).
Cute!Brings back old memories! I had just married and moved to a small town(my Daddy's family is from there) and found this wonderful little Craft store in the middle of town. Made a quick visit and the shop was just too good not to get involved in counted cross-stitch. I would rush home from work and instead of cleaning and cooking, my X(now) would come home expecting dinner and I would have a mess in the den. The madness lasted until after the divorce,16 yrs later. I then visited my Mom and decided I needed a new sewing machine...it turned out to be the down hill of my nice cleaned house. My very first Embroidery machine, but not like we know it tody. They were small built-in designs. Up went the XXX stitch things! It was not long before I needed some things from the Sewing Machine shop so I drug my son to Macon shopping..Bad Linda Bad!!! I brought home a new Singer XL1000
It was not but a couple of yrs from then when I was transfered to a bigger store to manage and it was close to Augusta, Ga. My first trip there to the Sewing Show and I came home with another Embroidery machine and a couple of yrs later another BabyLock that was newer and had more to offer. I have done almost no counted xxx stitch sine the first machine but I did have about 10 yrs of trying to paint on anything and everything. Arthritis put a stop to that. My Dad's Mom married at 15 and had very little formal education but was a genius with any kind of craft she ever tried. I got my love of all crafts from her!
That was supposed to be Sewing Shop, not show! It has been a long ride and alot of fun over the yrs but I no longer look forward to starting new projects. My crippling arthritis(all over my body) puts a different light on most of my days!
Well, sharing and learning turns into doing and no stirring****hehehe.
Love it! Thanks for sharing it, brought a smile to my morning! Live Laugh Download Stitch!
This cuts close to the bone. My DH would agree with this. Hugs Joyce
Hehehehe, sounds about right!! We could probably substitute the word quilt for embroidery and it would mean the same! Hugs, Laura*
I believe this is how it goes when we wanted to quilt. LOL Marie
