I am ready to buy my 1st digitizing software. I have brother machines so will be stitching in PES. What are your software recommendations for ease of use and not too technical? Thanks

I have a Brother too and was lucky enough to get PE Design with it, so that's what I've been learning to digitise with though I don't think you ever stop learning with so many stitching techniques etc :) I have Embird, but I much prefer PED for digitising :)

Embrid has a free 30 day trial. Why don't you try it and see if it will work for you.

Hi, and welcome to the Cuties! I have a Brother machine, which I purchased when I began machine embroidery several years ago. A very talented digitizer told me if/when I wanted to try my hand at digitizing, she highly recommended Embird Studio for the cost and learning scale. She had learned using Embird, and later purchased the much more expensive Generations software. I have only purchased basic Embird and its Iconizer plug-in, and love the features of both in aiding machine embroidery. As yet, I have not felt the need to learn to digitize with so many beautiful designs I have purchased/collected. One day I would like to learn, though, then, I will purchase the Studio portion of Embird. Love my Embird; don't know how I ever did machine embroidering without it!! You may want to check out the www.embird.com site for the particulars. What is so nice, you can buy the basic Embird, then add plug-ins for learning digitizing, monograming, photo stitch, etc., as you are ready. The $20 I spent for the Iconizer portion to view my designs in actual size, color, and with design info, is the best deal I ever got for $20!!
Hugs,
Angel

I will check this out. My biggest problem is that I am electronically challenged. I can do what I need to do on my computer but need someone to show me how to use the software or it needs to be idiot free. After someone guides me through it, I'm good to go. Since I live several miles out of the city, I was hoping to get something that was easil self taught to keep from having to go into town for classes.

There are lots of very down to earth tutorials available for Embird software. Just do a general search for "Embird Tutorials". You can also download the manuals for it.

Is there a dealer nearby that teaches any software?? I have one that teaches 2 different ones. When I want to learn I will ask them..

I have one that teaches PE design. The other dealer does not offer classes. I had a vendor at a show tell me that she uses Design Studio and loves it but the dealer that sells it doesn't offer classes.
