Congratulations!!! I wish you many happy days of embroidering with your new machine.****
I have a Pfaff 2140 and love it. It is not as fancy as your Bernina, but you can still do a lot with it. Have fun, just remember to come up for air ever now and again.
congratulations i have this machine as well and love it.
ok just one thing that the manual does not tell you and will save you some money in the future
when you remove the bobbin cover and the bobbin to clean that area you will see where the thread is cut on the left hand side. Sometimes a thread will catch and when you pull it it will catch on this and pull it out of position, It can also pull what we call the dogs leg out, This is the other small metal section that keeps the bobbin case in place, it is positioned on the right hand side of the bobbin case area
Stop worrying it does not happen very often and if it does then here is what you need to do.
use a small screwdriver to slide the metal section on the left hand side towards the right. you can clean put any bits of thread that may have caught up now. You will also note that the "dogs leg piece" is now free. Mkake sure it is seated correctly and then simply slide the left hand thread cutter bar back into position.
I have just saved you a trip to the shop to get it repaired and also a bill for it.
I move the thread cutter bar over to the right whenever i use my two inch long paintbrush to clean out the bobbin case just to keep every thing nice and clean. the long paintbrush will also be used to clean out any threads or lint caught between the tension bars and from the needle holder stem itself
i hope this will help you to have many many hours of fun.

Congratulations, so happy for you - I think that you are smart to get the cleaning done 1st - because once you sit down and get both of your machines running - you will be busy - I just bet you will be able to figure out how to run it, too. Hehehe! LQQKing for items in the PROJECT section soon.
Congrats! I look forward seeing to the cuties you will sew with it.
What fun! Congratulations on the machine and on that "keeper" of a husband! And, uhm, what's housework? hee hee hee
Congratulations on getting your new machine. Hope you have losds of fun with both the machines busy creating your designs. I have to say I admire your restraint in doing housework first. It would be last with me
