many thanks for passing this tip on as i had forgotten about it and had this problem with slippery threads but now i can solve that thank you
sewdeb you cut a slit in the sponge and let the thread run in the slit this stops the thread from getting too loose as it adds just a little more tension to slippery threads, a styrofoam peanut works in the same way. annie
Okay, I'm dense - do you run the thread THROUGH the sponge or under it? And how does a styrofoam peanut work? LOL?
Thanks for the great tip. Will give it a try. Have you turned this into Embroidery Library?
I am not sure that I am getting this can you take a bigger ppictue sew that I can "see" it all thanks Hugs Loralye
Good idea as I sometimes don't have a packing peanut around. How long does the spong last before you need to replace it?
I had the jumping thread while stitching. I took it to the dealer. He checked it out. He could not fix it. It had to be shipped to the repair center in Missouri. It will be gone from 2 to 4 weeks. Mine was a part that was broken in the machine.
Thank you for the tip! Any chance that you can take a picture from the back as well?
Thank you. Hugs, Lidia
Kind of like the packing peanut/Styrofoam that I've used when using metallic thread.
