Metallic thread,Most metallic threads need a metallic needle and even then you will find it hard going. But King star metallic thread you can use with what ever needle you are using,I have used it with very good results..

Another trick for using metallic thread is to put it on a cone stand or container. Place the container on the floor and thread the machine as usual. The thread has time to cool off before going through the thread guides. This has worked for many of us.

I use Superior Titanium Topstitch 90/14 needles and drop my tension as low as it will go and now all metallic threads stitch out perfectly.
I highly recommend them.

I didn't know the metallic thread needed a special needle and have used my normal needles with good results on the thread I have.

I have been using King Star metallic thread and hardly ever need to change my needle from what I regularly use on my embroidery machine.

Chris, King Star is made by FUJIX in Japan. These are the people who make the bobbin thread I use, that our sweet Yoriko got her son to buy in bulk for me.
