Awesome absolutely beautiful. do you want to give lessons on this. I am wanting to do this really bad. Do you live in Alabama? LOL
Wow! I have a circular foot - I do not know if it does this? Live Laugh Download Stitch!
Well, this quilt puts you at the top of the class for sure! The elegance of the design, the creativity of the elements of the quilt, and the precision of the stitching are amazing. I'm feeling a little jealous here...
Thank you for your kind words. I was shown how to do the twin needle work but the centre was my idea. I have 20 blocks done with different flowers in the middle. The other blocks are using lots of other techniques and may or may not ever get done LOL Shirley
I said it once and I say it again...this is just BEAUTIFUL! I am going to definately give this a try! So, it looks like the center heart design was embroidered before you put the block together..and the circular designs were done through the batting and backing?? Never thought of using a twin needle to quilt a block either..you are so creative...thanks for sharing your beautiful work.
As a second note...can you post a picture of the back of this block so we can see how it looks finished on the back? So lovely!
Thanks for your kind words. No the batting was ironed on 1st. then I did the circular design, then embroidered the heart flower in the centre and finally the twin needle work. I don't think a picture of the back would show up very well as it is white batting and white bobbin thread. I'll take a photo, if it shows up I'll post it for you to see. Shirley. By the way has it convinced you to buy the circular foot?
Beautiful, guess I will have to find mine and dust it off.
Hugs Joann
I don't know nothing about this technique, but is a delicate, stunning and amazing work. It's beautiful!!!**
Amazing work, I would like to try something like this tell us more about it. where you got your design? and how you when about doing it?
Calico is ironed on to iron-on batting before embroidery is done. Sew circular edging combining decorative stitches from your machine. Then embroider desgin of your choice in the centre. Then mark pattern on the outside area and sew using the twin needle. The stitches I have used in the circle are from the Janome 8 & 9000 machines. But there would be similar ones on other machines. Shirley
Thank you for telling us how you did this. I guess I know what is on my list of things to buy.
Shirley this is absolutely beautiful, it just pops out at you. Love it and must say you have me intrigued, will check this out.
thanks for sharing this masterpiece,
hugs
Michelle
Very nice. I have never tried the circular foot it looks a great effect. Hugs Joyce
Thanks. You can get some great effects with different stitch patterns. Sometime you need to pull a little or push fabric a little to get patterns to meet. Hugs Shirley
I went out and bought a circular foot for myself after I saw this work of you. It is so beautiful. Thanks.
I hope you enjoy your new foot. Play with different stitch combinations and have fun. Shirley
