Your folks were sure good looking. I really like what you did with this pillow.
This is amazing and such a wonderful tribute to your Daddy. I can just image how much comfort that had to be for your family and friends. Thanks for sharing such a special moment in your life with us.
What a lovely tribute to your parents. I would say they raised a very special daughter!
What a great idea. You did a great job digitizing the picture. Thank you for sharing him with us.
wonderful way to honor both your parents!
Gerry, thank you - both at different times for different reasons - but my heart was in it - with both of them.
What a really nice sentiment. They kind of remind me of my mom and dad.
thanks - well you might consider doing something like this for your folks, too.

Shirlene.
These are a great idea, as you say, something to hug when feeling blue. I made one for the widow of our local police officer who was shot and killed here in Tamworth in March this year, She sleeps with it every night.
hugs Helen
beautiful memory gift for you daughter in honor of you father great digitizing job.Maria
Shirlene, your work is beautiful. A great tribute to your Dad.
It's wonderful. Have you ever thought of making another one for yourself?
You did a great job digitising, Shirlene. It's a lovely keepsake. Didn't you stitch one for yourself too??
And have you made one of your mother as well? She looks so pretty in the picture. They would make a nice pair if you framed them.
Martine, thank you dear - I used the auto photo stitch on this one. I have made one for my Mother - my daughter has that one, as well. I think framing them - might be they way I would go - more than the pillow.
I hope this link is good - here is the pillow that I made my Mother:

Love this I too wish I could tell my dad that I love him, and give him a great big hug. DeVon
Thanks DeVon - do it - just say it out loud and wrap your arms around yourself. I bet you will feel him.
What a beautiful memory of your Dad, Shirlene. I am sure he would be proud. -Tania
Tania, thank you so very much - I know that it helped alot of the family - during the service - they passed it around.
You have done a great job, Shirlene, and a touching tribute to your father. Hugs, Lidia
Beautiful Shirlene: I am sure he will give you a hug somehow today. You will feel him with you.
Hugs Jerri
You did a great job. Great tribute and something to treasure.
What a beautiful, and thoughtful tribute to your dad. This is amazing, Shirlene, and you should be very proud of your self for digitizing it so well. A pillow is perfect for hugging!
Oops - I loaded the wrong picture of the TEST - here it is:
Alright I can understand why you changed the frame :o)
Looks much better in the square. A beautiful memory of your dad...
Greetings, Bettina
Bettina, thank you dear - this was the frame that i had around my Mother's - so I thought I would use it on his - but it just didn't look right.
1. When I digitize a design - I have to do a test stitch out of it - to make sure that I have all the colors right - here is my TEST and the original photo that I used to create the pillow that I made to honor my Daddy. As you see - I didn't like the frame I had on the TEST - so I put a black satin stich around the photo stitch on the off white pillow front.
2. I also stitched this out on a man's hankie - to be used under his urn at his service and my niece Nikki now owns it.
3. This is a closeup of the hanky. My Daddy served in the Navy and was very proud of that - his service was also held on Veteran's Day 2005. Most of the pictures shared in tribute to him - were during his tour of duty. There was a video made that had pictures of his life and the many family members that he loved. I do miss my Daddy, especially on days such as today.
oops - I loaded the wrong orginal and TEST - this was a photo of the orginal and the pillow side by side.
