ok they are in a download file. Now I have to figure out how to see them. I will have to try figuring out how to open them now. Thanks guys the yellow bar thing is there too
You don't need any special software to download anything. Our Cutie, suedewsbury, probably has the answer for you. If not, check your "download" folder. If none of the downloads are there and the yellow bar never appears...send me a PM and I will try to help you. To send a PM, find the "Private" tab in "Community" and click private message. Put in "rescuer" without the quotes and do NOT capitalize the names of any user you want to PM.
Let us know if you get it figured out.
Even people who have never had an embroidery machine or the software can download designs. Their computer won't know how to open them but you can save still them.
Once you get them downloaded, then worry about if they find your machine and open with your software.
You could do a search for a design you think you have downloaded to see if it is somewhere on your computer.... They may be downloading and being put in a folder somewhere. Good luck, I'm a Mac, and don't know very much about the Windows platforms. Welcome to Cuties!
When you hit download, are you sure it does nothing? Perhaps you are expecting a big dialogue box in the middle of the screen. According to your settings, you may have a thin yellow bar acreoss the bottom of the screen asking you what you want to do. It is annoying until you get used to it! (I didn't notice it at first and though nothing was happening.)
Let us know how you get on.
Mine is like this also. At first it was going to a download folder because I just clicked save. Then I realized that you need to click the arrow and select save as and select it destination. I really like it because you get another bar at the bottom that can open that folder and unzipped it if it's a zipped file.
It is OK when you get used to it, isn't it? Took me a day or so to find "save as" as well!
You should have software that came with your embroidery machine which you will have to download to your new computer so it can recognises your embroidery format. EXAMPLE I have a Janome so I have to have the Customer program installed on my computer. Hugs Joyce
It is the Bernina and in the move I can find the disc that came witht he embroidery machine. I never thought that might be the problem. I used to just download through my computer straight to my external drive. Now it won't even save a download.
Is the disc you can't find ArtLink? If so, you can download the current version for free from the Bernina website, berninausa.com. There is also a support button on the left of the page. It is really great to find another Bernina user. I get the feeling there aren't too many of us.

it could be a security setting, or click on your download folder, it maybe just putting them right in the folder automaticly.
I hate when you have a new computer, its like re learning everything you are already used to doing. Remember to have patience/
I'm not sure what exactly is happening.
Where are you trying to download from?
Can you give an example of what it is that won't DL
I too have windows7 but have no trouble at all in DL designs.
oh and 'WELCOME TO CUTE'
I can't download the designs off of this site. Like all the patterns that cuties give out free.
Maybe your security program is why you can't download anything. Turn it off and try to download something if it works, you will have to add the site to the safe senders list so it will work in the future.
Don't turn off you anti-virus program to download things. That is the surest way to get a virus. You may need to adjust the settings in your internet browser. Send me a PM if you want help.
I have Windows 7 and have no problems downloading designs. Hugs, Lidia
I don't have windows 7, but until someone who knows how comes along, I would google the question--"How do I download files with windows 7." There is sure to be an answer for you.
