I feel for you, because having a machine down means that the urge to DO things just get worse and worse!! So, spoil yourself and buy the second one so that you can have double the fun!!!!****
Well Lyn, when my first machine broke down and was in the repair shop for ten months, Ray decided to buy me the Designer Diamond, with which came a Brother Innovis 750D. Since then I bought another Elna Xquisite from the USA, so I now have 4 embroidery machines and it is fun to invite a friend over for the day as we can choose an Embroidery machine to use, or one of my two overlockers or one of my three sewing machines.
Yes, 9 machines all told yet for over 40 years I only ever had one sewing machine and one overlocker.
You have probably sacrificed and gone without all your life leading up to now so that your family could have what they needed. TRUE?
Why shouldn't you have a spare machine to use if one breaks down, when it is the one thing in your life that gives you so much pleasure.
So I say, If you want it, buy it!
Meganne, I think I still go without when thinking of my so and step children. I have until Tuesday to decide.
Hi remembering your efforts to find him in the first place I think I would give him longer to appear. BUT I do know what you are going through. Let us know what happens
If you lived closer you could have come round and done some sewing here but we are on opposite sides of the world (though it does seem like winter here today)
I have one to sell!!LOL But I do! I have 3 machines now..
I have one in mind and it has dropped $300 so I have till Tuesday to decide.
So he has your machine and he is missing? Have you been to his shop/home? Some techs don't seem to fond of getting on the phone to call people back, so maybe it needs a personal visit.
No, I still have my machine. It really has been only 1 week but seems like forever.
I kept my Janome 350E machine when I bought my 11000 so that when I send my machine for a service I still have one to use. Hugs Joyce
I only have two machines - maybe 3 if you count Mothers which I have never and will never use.My Singer I bought when I was 17, now I an almost 71. It is full of Dust etc.
What a dilemma you have on your hands. I would love a 2nd machine, but I know I can't afford it. Can you? If you can and you need a larger hoop or better features, it sounds like the time. If you are just missing it because it has been so long, if there anything that you can find to do to take up your time until the repairman returns and fixers you machine?
Well, at least you have time to decide. A lot to think about. Good luck!
If you have not got the money for another machine, give him a while longer.
Hope you hear from him soon.
Hugs Yvonne
The same thing happened to me many years ago, I had my MC8000 and my overlocker in for service, when the shop in a major shopping centre closed its doors over night. They owed lots of money to janome Australia, and they took everything. I was lucky enough to get them back because the tech they had sent in to collect everything, made the effort to contact all the repair customers, I was so grateful, as at ,the time my MC 8000 was only a few months old, and I was still paying back the personal loan I took out to buy it. Anyway not long after I got on to Frank from Homecraft sewing centre at Windsor gardens and he has looked after my machines ever since, give him a try, he is great. He is also very competive in his prices for new machines if you cant get yours fixed.
Sounds like he may be on vacation, why not give him more time. You could ask around and see if someone knows where he might be.
I have a feeling he is on holidays. Fixing machines is his after hours job. He is very good but there is not enough money in fixing machines alone.
LOL... that's exactly what happened to me. I
I had no intention of buying a second emb machine until I had to send mine into repair.
Now I'm the proud owner of my second emb machine & I too had no room for it really,
but I managed to find some space... LOL
I have until next Tuesday to decide. Just have my fingers crossed that he rings me before then
I guess it depends on your quality of life without a machine. I found having 2 machines was a neccessity and I have not been without one since I started. Lol! Spend the money - you'll feel better - but get what you want - no buyer's remorse! Live Laugh Download Stitch!
Just took mine in not to long ago for free check up and it was in over a week and he was slow. So, yes give him a little more time. A second machine is nice and maybe it doesn't have to be expensive. Good luck. Susan
I would give him a bit more time and then if it was a major problem or costly repair look into a new machine. Maybe you can get a trade in credit
I really shouldn't spend the money and I don't have room for a second machine, but I just want my machine either new or my old one.
