The prefurated plastic stabilizer that I have, it is an iron off stabilizer.
I did use this before I got the Vilene water soluble , doing bookmarks.

Think I have some of that- What I have is Sulky Heat-Away-It says Do not use on high pile fabic like fleece or Terry cloth. It says it is ok for FSL but I have not tried it for that. I used it on a kitchen towel - I would not have called terry cloth but it did have a short pile and I had a hard time getting it out. Thought I might try it for FSL bookmarks or maybe coasters
If this is a perforated plastic that is non-disolvable in water, I would not use it for FSL because it won't wash away and you will have plastic sticking out after a few months of use. Please wash a small peace and see if it dissolves and first test a small design to see its compatibility.****
All Stitch sells both the heavy weight Film type of Water soluble stabilizer named Badgemaster and the Fibrous type of water soluble stabilizer named Vilene Water soluble.
Click link below.
The first one on the page is the Badgemaster film Type and the Second is the fibrous type Vilene water soluble
***If you are just learning to do FSL then use the Vilene water soluble stabilizer (Fibrous type) and you will have less problems with it when you stitch the FGSL designs.

Where did you purchase it from?
do you have a link to the shop where you bought it?
It could be a heavy film type of water soluble stabilizer.
All you can do is do a test stitch of FSL on it and see how the stabilizer works.
You may need 2 layers for stitching FSL.
The heaviest film type of water soluble stabilizers used for FSL is either Badgemaster or Ultra Solvy.

See if a piece of the stabilizer you have will dissolve in warm water if it does then it is either a water soluble backing or a water soluble topping.
Here's a picture of Vilene (that is what I use) it looks like a light fabric interfacing used for sewing but dissolves in water. Hope this helps.
Muffy :)
Ewwww...I got some stabilizer that sounds like this once. I went to iron the design and it melted. So I'd sure test it before using it.
I would look for the mesh type water soluble - it looks more like fabric than a clear plastic. It is sometimes called Vilene. I purchase mine from WorldWeidner.com.
I have tryed some thing like this plastic stuff for FSL, It was a tea light cover and as the out side edges were sewing it cut trough the stabalizer.and all was lost, it had been sewing for abou 40 minuets so it was such a shame. so my advice is try it on a small itam to start with, see how it goes.
Hugs Pam.
Thank you all, I will order some solulable. Somebody know´s what´s the best brand?
The best I have tried is, Avalon plus, watersolububle fabric, extra strong. and you may still need two layers for some things.
Hugs pam.
Perhaps Justsew (Pam) or Susiesembroidery
could give a link of where to buy the Avalon Plus water soluble stabvilizer for you to see it.

I have also got Badgmaster, it is good.
It sounds like you have the heat away stabilizer. I have lots and have not even tried it. Heard it was difficult to remove, have to have high heat, etc. Live Laugh Download Stitch!
For FSL it needs to dissolve. Test a little piece and see if it does. I usually use the cloth type water solulable like Vilene
I guess if it can be sewen on then it is ok....but if it is heavy use the stablizer for the right project, like a purse, if light then can be used for something like cut away is used for. I it rips easiley use it like tearaway. I purchased some at wal mart like that but used it in embroidery...Waste not want not is my moto.
