Embroidery Question. Does anyone know how many stitches you get per 1,000 meters of Poly embroidery thread?

I realise it will differ with threads, colour, weight, brand etc., but I was really after a rough ballpark figure.

300 metres gives approx 60000 stitches. I wrote this down from a 'post' on this site a few years ago.

I don't know about the 1,000 meters but I did check into how many average stitches can be stitched using the 5,500 yard cones from Madeira when I was ordering a lot of thread thread that needed to be in the same dye lots. I found out it was 1 million.

I am in the US and don't use metric but you might use the metric conversion chart at the link below to help you. This is a good link to save for many uses.

Another way of figuring, the free Tajima program has a page that will tell you how much thread of each color you need, and you can even put in the amount of money you want to charge per 100 stitches (or something like that) and it will figure the price for you. I'd put the link, but it's totally missing from my brain at the moment. For a free program, I like the features.
