I had my machine busy some today while I was cleaning drawers in my sewing area, and decided to try a couple different types of material for the cut work bookmark I had posted earlier. The right one is done on White organza that has a shimmer, the left was done on Pink organza. These did not turn out as nicely as I had hoped, but still useable. The center one is done on linen as I did before. It was not quite dry when I did the picture. Lesson learned with this one - make sure you have enough thread on the spool to complete it! But, I tried something different with this one. Since it takes a lot of WSS to do these projects I decided to make a template for this, and leave this hooped. I did this by making it out of cutaway stablizer, and left the portion for the design area open. I then stitched the scraps of WSS I had, along with the linen scrap I had onto the area around the cut out area of the template. Now I do not have to re-hoop each time to do these - as long as I do not need by large hoop anytime soon. Hope you enjoy seeing the differences.

Great work and I am happy to see them in colors and on organza - I understand what you mean about the thread - but if you didn't point it out - it might not have been noticed here. I am not sure that I follow what you did - above - but I don't follow directions very easily - Hehehe! These are adorable and anyone will treasure them. If you want to stiffen up that organza - try using some of those WSS scrapes and desolve them in a bit of water and dip the bookmark down in them and allow them to dry. See it that helps. *4U

Will have to do that = also was wondering if double organza would be better. But, all were done using scraps of fabric I had here. Don't' really need to go out and busy any more! right?

The organza does not have the stability of the linen ones. Too, I think that the organza does not hold any of the WSS to help stiffen a little. They were okay, but just not as stiff.

It's hard to do if you have to be running in and out, but at least gets a few things done.
