Can't wait to see what you make. I can see pillows and little girl dress with lovely embroidery and lace on them.
What a wonderful bag of goodies. I bet our Queen of Lace would have a few. Maybe she will see this and give us some tips.
wow !! lucky you. Put it in clear plastic bin or clear plastic bag after you have sorted it out. You may want to wind it on pieces of cardboard to organize it. It would be great for doll clothes or any project that needed a frilly touch. Good luck. Kay
almost finished sorting this morning, will be searching for ideas to use as they are very pretty laces. have plenty of cardboard and will cut to put the larger pieces on so they will lie flat. thanks, betty
If any is flat lace you can sew it in rows either diagonally or side to side on a piece of fabric then turn the block into a pillow. I did this with some of the lace my grandma left me. It turned out very pretty and feminine.
Lucky you. I am jealous. Enjoy you stash
such a surprise, you would not believe what I have, they even gave her another bag with some material, unfortunately not too much was usable for me, but they had zippers, bias tape, buttons, elastic and some misc. items that i also kept. all for that dollar. my dil is a keeper. Betty
thank you, i'm trying, need to sort all first, making headway. need to get a picture of this small mountain of lace. Betty
Wow!! That sounds like a real bonus! To me, it's the trims, ribbons, lace that make an ordinary project extraordinary...I think the new term is "bling". Anyway, use away every time you do something...I'm sure you'll have fun. Not sure what type of projects you like doing but I hope you take some pictures and show us what you do with this awesome find. Try sorting it out first and wrap the pieces on cardboard. You could note yardage as you go along. When it's organized it won't look so threatening and I'm sure your creativity will blossom.
it is all tangled in this bag but i do have patience and will get this all taken apart slowly and take your adivce and put yardage and size. my first project will be hankerchiefs. love making them, but beyond that don't know what else to do. Betty
I love making dresser runners and doilies for night-side-tables. Usually use plain linen or a nice cotton. Often I embroider in the corners and put lace edging around the perimeter. Great gifts. Also, if you do any crazy quilt projects, lace is a wonderful addition. Enjoy!! Avis
great ideas. i started taking the lace apart and trying to untangle some. have enpty tp rolls, found 6 to get me started for the larger laces and yardages. less than a yard and a half will go in a zip lock bag according to color, this is how far i got. found some very nice laces and trims. Betty
