Anabela not sure if you figured out how to change the speed, but if you will look at the book icon above your "utility stitch" click it and then go to page 3 down at the bottom. That is where you change your speed. This is probably too late, but maybe someone else can use the info. Hugs, Terre
Can you buy Spanish made Brildor thread. I can buy it in the Netherlands at €8.90 for 5000 (!) meters. Here's a link to their website, maybe you can buy it there or get a dealer's name.
Wow congrats 4 your new baby I am so happy for you enjoy.:)
Loos wonderful Anabela, I hope you have a long and happy relationship with her. I too would slow the speed down if your threads are breaking - that is one of the worst things about sewing machines. Love and blessings Chris
Best of luck with your new baby, and many happy stitching hours. Hugs, Rachel
I know you are relieved that it all worked out. I would have had the same concerns about losing my money.I am happy to see you are having fun with it.I love your owl! Maybe for me too, one day,I will get a bigger hoop, to do more. I wish you many hours, of happy embroidering ,with your new baby-Toogie
Anabela have fun with your new baby and may you have many happy hours together. These are great machines. I have a Brother Galaxie 3000 which is an older model than yours. As suggested below you can alter the speed plus there is a variety of languages that the machine can work in. Just incase that helps. You have been given some great advice here. Its intersting that so many prefer to slow the speed down - I do too. I use a wide variety of threads with no problems
The best of all was, that I try to low the speed and it works, the threads don´t break. Yesterday I stay up untill 4pm and almost forgot to go to sleep. My husband was not so happy :) In the moment I´m working on trial´s to learn how the machine works. I wish the days have 48 houres...
Glad you got yout baby! You were concerned about the packaging and getting it and it working, so it looks like it made the trip just fine!
Anabela,
If your machine is like my d-in-law's (hers is a less expensive model, though) there should be an icon in the black area of your screen. Hers looks like a notepad with lines on it. click on it, and it should take you to a screen that will let you pick the speed, whether you want to leave your needle up or down when you are sewing and stop, name your colors of threads or use numbers for them. etc...
it is not on a computer, it is in your machine itself.

You are the best...I find it, thank´s a lot. In the evening i will try it out.
Hugs
Anabela
Congratulations! I am so happy you got it, I was a little worried for you...enjoy and create more masterpieces!
Good luck with your new baby, may you have wonderful hours of fun and creativity with her.
Slowing the machine down should help reduce puckers too if that is a problem. I go slow so if I've made a mistake like using the wrong color, I can fix it before it goes too far. Gosh, someone posted not too long ago a brand of thread that was mfg for high speed machines. Does anyone remember the brand? My foggy brain draws a blank at the moment.
Anabela
I have an older Brother - the ult 2001- and can use any thread on her. As long as I use a thread stand beside the machine. I used to have a lot of thread breakage and also went thru a ton of needles, because the thread would get caught up between the spool cap and the tip of the thread spool. After I bought the thread stand, I haven't had any problems with any thread I use, including Metallic.
and slowing the speed down is a really good idea.

if you can here one more - congrats and you will figure the speed out in the maual in no time, happy times with your new baby
Congratulations on your new "baby". I find my machines (both brother) work better if I stitch at the 350 instead of the 600 or 1000.... And the other thing to look at is the needle - is it new and the right eye size? I ask because when my needle gets old it starts shredding my thread.
Yes , it´s a new needle but I must figure out were I can reduce the speed. OH my...
it will be on a menu in the computer - should be a section in your manual about it - sorry, don't have this machine to give you more specific details.
Looks just wonderful. Hope you have many hours of sewing pleasure. Sarah.
So happy for you. I know how you worried. Now you have it up and running and making projects. Great news.
Wishing you fantastic sewing with your lovely 'Brother'.
I use most brands of thread on mine. Madiera is my fav but also isacord and marathon.
Do get to try your threads that you have before purchasing new.
I do however use Schmetz Embroidery needles.(they have a larger eye)
Hugs Bev
Yesterday I did the first experiments with it and loved it. When I saw my husband entered the mega box at home could not believe it. It is much larger than my previous one and I did not know this because I had never seen live.
I only see at Youtube what you can make with her, but you don´t have the idear of the dimensions. It was a pleasant surprise now I can try to do all those beautiful things, that I could not until now. It's a shame to have to work in the office all day...I want go home...:) where is my fairy godmother..
sew much fun. and it looks like you doing the owls I have been wanting for so long. Lucky lucky you.
Hugs Pam
wow isnt if fun a new machine to play with i have a fairly new brother quatro and it is great ...soozie
Agree...slow it down a bit...500-600
But if you have to buy new thread...try Metro Thread
Great price and my BabyLock loves it.
Can I get it online? Where? In Portugal I pay 6,5€ for 10g (200meters, I think) It´s realy to much.
I love your new machine. Just slow it down a notch. No need to buy new threads.I personally think they stitch better not at top speed. If you are using metallic threads you really need to slow it down. Enjoy!!!
I must figure out were I can slow down the speed...heheheh. I haven´t read the instructions ...It´s just like me, at first I try it out and then I read the instructions leaflet...
Looks just like my Brother 1500D. After I had it serviced the fix-it man had set the speed to 350 not 800 that I had it set at. Try it at a reduced speed. I use all brands of thread it mine. Hugs Marg
I agree with Marg. I find my Brother machine stitches much better at a lower speed. Less speed should help the thread breakage problem.
Hugs, Angel
My friend has a brother, she said its like a car you don't drive it at top speed. She uses all brands of threads. Enjoy your machine, cheers
i to have a brother and love her lol big hugsand congrats carolyn
You might try puting a few drops of Sewer's Aid on the spool of thread. Also a needle with a bigger eye(hole). That's a beautiful machine. Congrats.
Donna
If you can adjust the speed on your new machine your older threads may work just fine. It will take a bit longer to do a stitch-out but you will then be able to use what you have already paid for. Have fun and enjoy your new "baby"!!
Parabéns pela chegada de sua nova máquina. Eu não posso esperar para vê-lo belas criações.
Congratulations on the arrival of your new machine. I can't wait to see you beautiful creations.
Thank you so much for the translation! I love trying to figure out what you are saying!
I am glad you received your new baby. Have you tried a thread stand? That might help with the braking. If you can slow down your machine you may be able to use up your existing thread.
Have lots of fun
Glad yor machine arrived safely and works well. Sorry to hear you will have to buy more threads though. Thanks for showing. Shirley
OOOOH, congratulations, Anabela!! She looks wonderful, just save the other thread for the older machine, and enjoy this one! I'm so pleased for you, doing the happy dance. Hugs, Marji
