Check your machine to see if one of the decorative stitches might be an alphabet stitch. On my machine, I can do regular sewing and plug in any letters I want, so I can sew words as I'm stitching along.
Good luck finding what you are looking for.

Ah! That looks like a very useful font when a single line is needed. Thanks for posting that one.

There is a Story Blanket alpha at The Yummy Factory that you may wish to look at. It looks lovely going around the edges of satin bound baby blankets.

This is still my problem as well...why is a backstitch or runline font so difficult to find? I bought the runline fonts from Jolson, but they, too are not really runline...they repeat over about 15-17 runs to make them actually more like a mock satin alphabet. Just want a true type runline or backstitch font that I can use in my digitizing software...want to avoid the letter by letter approach...still looking...anyone?

If you don't have any software it's quite a job to line up the letters of an alphabet. Unlike a font in your machine or in your software where you can type in the words you want, the letters of these alphabets have to be combined like any embroidery design.
But even if you have software to convert a True Type Font into an embroidery font getting a nice looking letters is not always easy.

Embird was mentioned. You might consider having a look at the software at their site, Basic will be enough unless you want to start digitising. There's a 30 day free trial and you can view their pre-digitized fonts (not included, you have to buy them separately). Here's the link to the site.

Jolson has a font called handlettered. This is a really nice one but not so small.
I have that one from SkeldaleHouse but it looks not like the german handwriting I'm used to.
I often use the Dianafont from SICK (they have a sale at the moment; every set for 2,-$). Or watch at their invitationfont. On the pic you see the Dianafont. Have to warn you: I put them together with embird. Do you have any progamm to combine designs? Or do you try to do it on your display? With my janome this might work but never with the display of my brother (too rough).
Greetings, Bettina

I've been searching for a single line font for a long time. Other than the one I mentioned below, the next one might work for you, but I've not stitched it out. SkeldaleHouseDesigns has a Yahoo group. If you join her group she has a small free alphabet in her files.

Do you have software that will utiliize True Type Fonts and make them into embroidery fonts? My Artista allows this and I love it.

hi sorry never heard of this where can i buy it and how much does it cost ....thank you

Which TrueTypeFont have you used that has given a nice normal looking handwriting look? So far, all the ones I've worked with have been too fat, or too big that they do reduce in size succuessfully.

Go to any Bernina sewing machine dealer. Ask dealer specific letterring questions. Mine is Ver 6 Artista so is digitizing. I hope someone else will know about other software to help you.

If you have Embird, I just bought their font #22. It's a pretty simple line.

Gosh, Embird is an entire program for embroidery. I got mine at secretsof.com There are probably lettering programs out there that are far cheaper and only do lettering that I am not familar with. The problem I've had with making True Type Fonts into normal handwriting is that they come out too fat. In normal handwriting you trace over lines and when that second line gets digitized, it makes the stroke fat and therefor has lots of stitches. If you join SkedaleHouse Yahoo Group, she has a tiny font that might work for you. I understand the problem you have and it is not an easy one to solve. Do you have editing software?
