Dear Jan, I am so glad to read that all went well! Praise Jesus!! Hugs to you all! God Bless! How did Ben Like his new iPod?
Ben did amazingly well today! No tears, no panic attack, no screaming. He was singing Beatles songs as they wheeled him away. We made it home with him without him getting sick! We didn't know it, but he had a crown that had fallen off since January. He might have been in pain from that! We don't have to take him back for two years!!! Thanks for all your well wishes, concerns and prayers! Jan
OH dear Jan, the dentist is an ordeal for most people let alone a very special young man like our Ben.
I do hope he has an easier time than you expect and I will pray that there will be very little pain later.
Sending a special Angel to watch over him and wish I could send you a thousand roses for the special Mum that you are.
Oh what a stress for the young man.
I wish you much strength.
Tanja,
Prayers for a good experiance at the hospital.
My DS was so brave and good about his wisdom teeth extraction. I was always truthful (as can be) and and he understands. The only difficult part he was upset about was he wet the bed when he was soon out of the op room. We never thought to take spare underpants.
The icecream and yogurt lunch cheered him (he hates to miss mealtimes and watched the clock) breakfast fasting was also a bit of a problem.
I had all the meals for the next week sorted, apple sauce, chicken soup and rainbow jellies and progressive mashed foods also straws for juice and tea. The apple sauce was the best for the medication to be crushed into. He was an excellent convalescent, spoilt.
Moms suffer the most waiting for the op time to be over.
Big Hugs and Best wishes
Bev
My thought and love are with you (and Ben) tomorrow. Let us know how it goes. Hugs Sarah.
Good luck and God Bless you and Ben. Hope things go well for you both. Have a great day. Will be thinking of you and Ben.
Yes the things we do. Hope all goes well, and keep in touch! Have you also had this rain! It is wonderful but again tonight flash flood warnings and the waldo fire is gonna cost us all! LLDS!
OOPS! I can't believe I posted this is the wrong place - especially after we have all been so good. I just have one option and that is to laugh at myself and ask you gals to be patient with me. *%@**#!!!
Try to relax...I know it is hard. I am sure we will all survive. No more swearing though...it burns my eyes. lol
I personally think that here was a good place to post. At least more people see your post and give you the prayers and love that you need to get through tomorrow. Sarah.
Looks like you have got it all figured out how to not upset him until you get him there. I've had to pull that on my kids a few times and it sure does save on their anxieties about going to the doctor. Will have a prayer for Ben and a prayer for you that the wait isn't too long before they take him for the procedure.
When my kids were growing up, we approached any huge ordeals as "a plan". We were going to go do X, but first we had to make a stop here. X was usually going to get hot chocolate or breakfast cookies. That way, there was nothing unusual about not having breakfast first. And when we were done, we did eventually get to the hot chocolate; usually they weren't interested in it right away.
I truly agree with the flossing business. My dentist suggests having kids chew gum with sorbitol, which helps get the teeth clean and cuts down on cavities.
Good luck with the "stop".
We have to have him there by 9:15 and it's just under a 3 hour drive. I can't tell you how important it is to him to have a Plan. He needs the day's plan the night before. You are so right - do you know Ben?? he he
My youngest HAS to have a plan also. Double check the air in the tires. I will add the smooth drive there to my prayers.
If Ben is anything like my boy, a surprise trip to Disneyland would be a nighmare but give him details of the "plan" and even bad things are OK
Oh boy, Jan, it's too bad you can't take the dog with to help as a distraction!! She is a service dog, isn't she? Wishing you the best of luck, my friend...let us know how it goes........hugs go with you.......Vicki
If you have a service dog, then the dog can go along; no questions asked. The dog can go anywhere that a person can.
Bia isn't even close to being an asset taking Ben anywhere. She is too stubborn and won't lie down and stay down. Bates was soooo much better. He went to lots of drs and appointments at Childrens. This dog needs more work - anyone want to try?
I hope and pray that all goes well for Ben on Tuesday. Hopefully the gold Ipod will do the trick on the distraction part. Will be thinking and praying for you. Hugs, Mary
Good luck, Jan. You are a pro at this and I'm sure that it will go as smoothly as it possibly can. Ben is going to be so proud of his new gold IPod.;)
will be thinking of you, and prayers everything will go alright. The new gold ipod will impress him, Im sure.keep us updated how it went. Hugs, Gerry
I hope things go well. Take something with you to work on. The hours will feel like days if you don't. I will be praying for you all.
Good Luck Jan, I am sure with all your excellent preparations that it will be fine. Will think positive thoughts for you all
