I made some luminaries similar to this last year for hostess gifts. I used one of those tall glass candles inside. It worked great. You don't want the flame touching, but the glass candles are perfect. I get the ones without the decorative labels that are in the grocery store in the international foods aisle.

They are beutifull, I have made about seven in all, not this one though, it looks fantastic,
I have some with the battery T lights in, and some I have poped a small glass inside then you can put a T light candle in the glass.
Hugs Pam.

Yes they are beautiful. I too have the flameless candle lights. I think it would also look pretty just wrapped around a large candle.

It is and when I finished the second one, I sewed them together like you would for the FSL bowls. Just zig-zag over the two sides. No ribbon needed.

A really lovely, beautifully digitized design. Stitches out with no problems and fits a 3 inch glass. Dollar Tree has the perfect ones right now in the candle section and I plan to get several tomorrow. Use small 2 inch flamless candles and you will have a lovely gift. I stitched it in a light blue and used satin ribon to lace the two together. Really lovely. Wish I knew how to download a picture. A nice gift. Marietta

It is on Isliane's website. If you read the posts here, one of the ladies gives her site.

I really think you could get away with only one tied around a glass, if it is sitting in a corner of something. They are sure pretty sewn out.

It's lovely. Did it take about an hour and do you need two parts to wrap around the candle?

Thank you, just under an hour and I think you could get away with just doing one and tie it around a small glass about the size of a pop can (diameter, not height) then put a tea light or one of the flameless lights in.

It is very pretty with two and tie the ends with ribbon to match, Jo-Anns has a round flickers candle that looks nice in middle and then I put it on a small plate. It is a very pretty design. Your daughter will love it.

jerrib by jerrib 08 Jul 2012

She does love it, but I am too late with the idea, she already has something for the tables. Oh well, it will look good in my bathroom

grannyh by grannyh 08 Jul 2012

You really need 2 to lace together. I think it would be too tall for a really small flamless candle.

I hope so, but she might have other plans. She is about 2 hrs away, so don't know what she is planning. Its supposed to be a surprise. I helped with Wedding #1. This is #2.
