I can't help but add one more. My best friend sometimes tells her husband 'Oh I picked that up for (insert name) I knew she would need it'.
No good for me I don't drive! He's not too bad anyway....well....sometimes
Some great idea's here from you and everyone else.
A lot of good tips here. A lot of them I also use to hide lollies from my children when I shop. I like to bring them out gradually, they eat when they see :) In plain sight tends to work best. They don't tend to look at what's under their nose!
you missed out my way.
I use large plastic houshold rubbish bins with lids. my fabric gets stored in these and are safe from rain and rats. I paint flowers on the side of the bins and hubby thinks they are a neat way of brightening up the garden.
that reminds me must get another bin....
This was really so funny. Thanks for tips. Hugs Marie
So cute, I'm going to have to start using some of these tips as I had run out of my own.
Another one Get him interested in a hobby so he cant complain about yours. That is what my DH and I have always done I have had verious hobbys and so has he. We have never argued as to what was spent on them. No pointing fingers. Hugs Joyce.
I don't like to, 'need' to go to the fabric shop, when we are in town, when we are together, which is most of the time, since he is retired. We live about an hour away, so he goes with me now and when I get anything because he makes me feel guilty. I know that I will never live long enough to sew it all, but it is all SO PRETTY. And you can make so much out of it.I rarely buy it full price, since I can ALWAYS find something I like on sale. I will win, having the most fabric when I die!haha-Toogie
Funny and inspirational. Thanks I needed a chuckle. LLDS!
my wonderful husband is one of sew few who actually no what a fat quarter is & he is like blueeyed blondes husband & if he wants to surprise me he rarely buys me flowers but he will buy me fabric instead! How Lucky I am!
Love this, but so glad that I do not have to do any of the above.
lol. Brought a whole bolt of fabric forgot about it until we moved and my DH was packing that closet.
Really hilarious, but actually too true, hee hee hee! Hugs, Marji
I guess I'm really lucky. My hubby would stand patiently by, as I shop, hold my bargains for me, then say, go ahead get whatever you want (not NEED)! LOL #21 on your list got my attention: Just write in large letters on the boxes "Feminine Supplies" *Used- Contaminated! NO ONE would dare touch your supply!! LOL (I'm a bit crazy!!)
Hugs, Angel
Never had to hide my stash from hubby. He had his hobbies I had mine. After I got my embroidery machines he was forever buying clothes for me to put things on. lol and I mean he bought a lot of stuff. Saddly I never got them all embroidered before he passed away 2 years ago. Now I have a lot of XL yellow or some call it gold shirts and nothing to do with them. May sell on E-Bay one day plus some of my fabric since I have more than I will ever use now. lol
I had the same problem, never got to do a lot of his projects. Sell the shirts, but how could you ever let the fabric go? She who dies with the most wins!
You were a very lucky lady, indeed. I do hope you decide to sell or give away the shirts one day. Donate to a quilt guild, they would love it, if you don't sell it.
You are too funny, Marji.
I don't worry about hiding it-my husband wouldn't say anything-well yeah he would-he would ask if I had a good time shopping. If he tried to go there I would just have to point out all the baseball caps he has and doesn't wear and the DVD's he constantly buys. LOL-My problem is by the time I can find free time to try to use up some material-I don't feel like it-
I hope one day you feel like it, such a waste of time and money, if you don't.
This is great, but wouldn't want to store fabric in my vehicle. I'm over 5,000 ft and the sun would rot the material in no time.
No need to hide here. I now only buy what I need...did I say that...another blooper...I mean, I try to only buy what I need, ROFL ;D *2U
My DH is so good about the fabric I have. He comes with me to the store and insists I make sure I have all I need. Our Fabricland has been closed for a couple of years and is reopening in few weeks. I am excited. Hope he hasn't changed. LOL
You must have the same drugs as blueeyedblonde, or maybe it's something in the air at Fabricland! Where is it, anyway?
i always say i have half a house in my sewing room and still tryhing to find more space to put more tubs now in excess of 40 think i need to build another level to my house....soozie
I am a former fabric store owner....and one of my favorites was to always keep grocery store bags handy for my customers to take home their fabric. The hubbies never seem to mind the grocery bags coming in the house!! Worked like a charm. Now with people taking their own bags back to the store...well...we're going to have to keep some of those other bags in the trunk for emergency shopping.
I am so lucky - I don't have to hide my stash and when in Fabricland I gather up a few bolts and then take them to be cut and he stands there and gets that done (and folds the fabric for the cutter) and tells me it's OK, go ahead and look some more! I actually buy more than if I had been by myself as I feel I need to hide how much I get!
These are so funny!
Boy, you have him trained, did you have to use some wonder drug? Hee hee hee
Thank you for the giggle!!!! I have used so many of these points to hide my accumulating stash :)
Very funny and so true *lol*
I'm sure you have this design from emblibrary :o)
Greetings, Bettina
