You will be surprise how you can find this product. If you know someone who is a nurse, they use it for washing sheets in hospitals . I have supplied a link just to let you know what you could look for. I hope this helps!

Thank you very much cuties.
I have been requesting all the known people who visit India regularly to buy sulky washaway stabiliser for me and paying them. Now I have enough stock as many have obliged.

Also I have started using net and tulle and that is ok for me as far as I am able to embroider designs.

Thanks to all once again. Love and Hugs to all

Gosh I would have thought in India you would be able to get this type of thing. The most beautiful Sari's are sold there.
Guess we take things for granted and don't realise how hard it is in some countries to get what we think of as embroidery basics

Suppliers are listed on trade websites of India. But they want bulk order. Bernina retailer sells in retail but very high rates. My husband bought packet of needles from switzerland and it has "made in India" mark but I know of no place to buy them in India.

Welcome to Cute!!
Before I bought any water soluble stabilizer (which includes Vilene), I stitched on a double layer of tulle (the fine bridal netting). When I was finished, I simply trimmed the netting out of any open spaces and around the design and it worked out quite well. I still use that method when I'm stitching something that I'm not sure is actually free standing. Good luck!

Where are you?

I can't imagine what you would use. Can you purchase online and have it sent to you or could another make the purchase for you and send it to you?

I have not tried this but how about spray starch. It would give body to your fabric and it would wash out. I do not know how it would be to sew on or what effect it would have on your needle.

I don't know of any acceptable alternatives that work as well or wash out. Since you have been given some excellent advice, I'll just say, "Welcome, and I'm glad that you are here!" ;)

Welcome tu Cute!

If Vilene or film-like soluble stabilizer are not available where you live, you could buy online. There are many websites selling embroidery supplies online, like AllStitch, whose link is below.

Hugs, Lidia

I'm also wondering where 'here' is :) And I think most things are available by post, unless postage isn't very secure, perhaps?

Welcome! I would like to hear an answer to this, you could always use organza but it won't wash out.
