I am wondering if we have any Members that live in Meridian, Ms. I lived there for around 10 yrs when I was a child and would like to talk to someone that lives there now. We left and went back to Macon, Ga when I was around 10 and have been back only once since then. That was the summer after Cammille tore up the whole Gulf Coast and destroyed so many homes and businesses. I was talking to another Cutie today on the phone that has some family in Meridian and it left me sitting here and trying to remember so many things. Lillian lives in Alabama but has family in Meridian. We were both born and raised in Macon, Ga and even went to the same Junior and Senior High School. We never met each other when we were both in Macon because there was just enough age difference that we weren't in the same school at the same time. My Mom has been gone about 20 yrs but she was raised and schooled and married then had me in Macon, Ga. Her only job straight out of High School was with Southern Bell. She retired from there and never had another (paying) job. She and my dad did however moved to Ms. in 1946. She transfered with Southern Bell and followed Dad there because he had a job offer. I was just 3 months old at the time. We returned to Macon in 1957 or 58. Since I have been here on Cute, I have found out just how small this world is. My favorite place in this world is Seviere County Tn. I almost bought a home there a few yrs back but I got sick and had to have surgery so backed out at the last minute. I have arthritis now and can barely get around so my going days are over. I have fought the arthritis around 25 yrs and it is just about to get the best of me. I am mostly homebound and when I do get out, I suffer for days afterwards. I only get out when it is necessary!

I live near vidalia and am very happy here. My hubby spent 30 years in the military then 20 working for the federal government all were traveling jobs every few years so I am glad to settle down on a farm we inherited from his mom. you might say he is a farmer now even though he just plants what we want to eat and look at. I don't think I could live in the city again. don't know what I would do if I lost my hubby he is 73 now. can't think about things like that need to just be happy for the moment don't know what will happen the next one. sorry to bend your ear so much have faith all will be well and it will. hugs

I agree with you about living in the country! I grew up a farm girl, so playing in the dirt and planting is still in my blood! Of course, these days, it is mostly just planting flowers in the spring. Glad to see you do not live very far from Macon; so I'll think of you as a neighbor! LOL Think only happy thoughts! Send me a PM, if you would like to chat by email sometimes, so I can give you my email address.
Hugs, Angel

I am so sorry you have such difficulties with the arthritis issue. It is so frustrating to deal with daily problems of discomfort and limitations to our activenes! I grew up in Amory, MS., but have lived in Macon, GA., for the past 45 years, so this is now home. I travel to Amory almost each summer, as I have many friends and most of my famiy still there. Hugs, Angel

Angel, Macon is my home and always will be. I am very misplaced right now and if I ever get better so I can move, I am out of the Atlanta area! My only son is about 30 minutes from me but since he married(a whole family) he might as well ne in China! It takes an act of Congress to get to see him. I feel like I am all alone 99% of the time. He has a very needy family and he works long hours so he has no time just for himself. He forced me to move here in 2007 and in 6 months of my moving, he married. They seem to be happy but the situation seems sad to me. If it were me, I would not be happy!

My daughter lives in McDonough and deals with the Atlanta traffic jams to and from work each day. I told her I would never live in such a congested area. When you get better, move back to Macon; would love having you here! Hope you are feeling better today!

I empathize with the medical stuff. I have been limited since Saturday after working too hard Friday, and I still do not want to move. Mind over matter, til the mind goes I guess! I hope you find a new friend from your home town. Live Laugh Download Stitch!
