Let me see I have knitted a few hats for the boys and plan to put a sport logo on them. I have purchased a wallet pattern on my trip. I purchased some material for them also, and these will be for the girls. I plan on making one of my daughters a 10 minute table runner also. I now only have 2 sisters (lost 2 last year) I plan on making lace angels. All I have thought of so far, I am still looking for ideas to make some other items.
Hugs Joann
I want to make some table runners with gifts boxes appliqued in the center of the three white 8" squares. I just got the fabric today.. It is in the wash machine as I type!! I found gift boxes in a roll! for some of the strips..
Well Jeffs quilt is done now to finish Corys then i gave the kiddies Moms money and say buy the thing they want most from me for me and that makes me the best gramma ever lol easy and it workd year after year hugs
You get so much done - it would take most of us several years to do what you do in a year.
lol thanks but i have always been a mover and a doer lol maybe when i get "old" i will slow down lol hugs
I try to do things through out the year.
Have not managed to make any Christmas gifts for the last 3 months.
I have had so many jobs/projects to do for customers.
Completed 3 bags, 1 pencil bag, scarf and then she had knitted 42 blocks and I put them together with a crochet frame around each and did an out side frame around the whole blanket.
Now I am busy with a last minute wedding order for collection on Thursday. 2 garters and 90 satin ribbon ties for napkins.
I will then carry on with my Christmas projects between my orders.
I have not even had much time to spend on "cute"
Hugs Yvonne
Yvonne, you are always so busy with your customers - I am sure you family enjoy anything and everything that you make for them - you always do such lovely work.
Christmas????? I am still working on getting all my birthday and wedding gifts for the summer done. I hope that I can get some things sorted and ready to go by the end of August and work on things for Christmas then. I see what you are saying about doing something each month to ease the stress of the holiday, however.
Yes, Sarah if you try to do something each month - then by the Christmas you can enjoy it so much more - do what you can do with all that you have going on & keep on stitching.
I'm too busy enjoying Christmas in July parties at the moment, but, yes I need to get organized as I have more GNeices/GNephews this Christmas. They each receive a stocking with embroidered name but GAuntie keeps forgetting which way the toes face gggg silly me had them all ways & each family has toes facing differently. Last Christmas each family's mother was made a Christmas apron & I made the young ones an apron from calico, embroidered a cupcake & their name on it. Really pleased with the way the aprons turned out. I have to put on my thinking cap for this year so I will keep tuned in here.
Denise, it might be a good idea to have them take a picture of their stockings - that way you will know which way the toes face - Hehehe! I jus tbet you will come up with great gifts for each of them.
Thanks
I am not even thinking about Xmas yet.... I am one of those who seem to scramble towards the end trying to get everything done I want to. I guess I will never change..... oh well I guess that is just ME
I'm close to being done with knitting and since now its hot enough to turn on the air conditioning I will be starting embroidery gifts soon. Starting to get my files set up.
Christmas in JUly is on TV right now-Yikes where did the first half of the year go!
It sure is amazing how time flies - hope to see some picturs of your knitting soon - as well as your embroidered projects as they come together.
Can't we just skip Christmas this year? Maybe just have a low key one where we just remember the real reason and forget all the other stuff?? Please???
I am not sure that if I started this early that I would get it all done, but at least I wouldn't be so tired during the holiday with non-stop stitching.
My goodness gracious! I haven't even finished my Spring projects!
I really need to get busy!
MJDG
thank you each for responding and sharing where you are with your projects - I always get so inspire by each of you.

Cindy B
What a blessing - keep working on the baby things - then get to the Christmas later. Hehehe!
Oh Shirlene . You have given me a wake up call. I started early then it came to a grinding halt as I have had a lot of birthdays and great morning tea for cancer to sew for. It looks like I had better get back to some serious Christmas sewing before i run out of time. hugs joyce
Joyce, I understand - life does get in the way of our plans, doesn't it? Just do what you can do.
I have one gift left to do. That is it. I will be finished with Christmas. It is going to be play time for a long time. Happy Stitching everyone.
Wow, I am so impressed - way to go. Enjoy your play time. Let's see some of those gifts in PROJECTS - it might inspire us.
To tell you the truth, it is too darn hot here in the Ozarks,(105 today), to think about Christmas gifts. Got some ideas for DGK's, but that is as far as I have gotten on Christmas ideas. Ha! They always want pj bottoms. Do have the fabric for those. Grannieannie
Grannieannie, I do understand how the weather can create some trouble in our minds with what we are making - just do what you can do to keep cool. those pj bottoms sound like great gifts.
I just finished 2 golf accessory bags for BILs and have done a dozen Angel tealight covers for all my sisters and friends. Oh also some monogrammed hankerchiefs for another BIL. Still more to do but must do DIL's birthday gift- matching aprons for her and granddaughter. Hugs. Nan W
Nan, thanks for the inspiration - can you take pictures and share them in the PROJECT section?
Shirlene comm on - Christmas in July - Ok yes I thing I will make some of Katulle designs and frame them - perhaps sell them in our Gallery and maybe give my family for Christmas gifts :o)
There you go Sigrun - you figured it all out and have some wonderful idea's - good luck with the Gallery.
Answer: none! I have only one to make and it's not strictly for Christmas, we exchange a gift after Christmas, just before the end of the year. Actually, Christmas is a religious event and the gifts are not part of it. In Europe, Saint Nicholas was giving gifts to children on 6th of December. Another tradition is that a Good Witch called Befana brings gift to children on 6th of January, the day that the three Magi kings arrived to Bethlehem carrying gifts to him. Different customs in every country.... I don't mean to bore you!
Hugs, Lidia
How wonderful - only 1 gift to make. I love the history and traditions of other countries and I was bored at bit. Lidia, thank you.
Hi Shirlene - I am having a job to get down to any project let alone Christmas!!! Good to see you back here. Hugs Sarah.
Sarah, I do understand - I have some trouble getting to mine, too. But I have to do a little at a time or I will never make it. Hehehe! Thanks!
Hi Shirlene, glad to see you back but you ask too many questions he he
Dolly, you are too funny - just had to have something to ask and the sales are Christmas in July - so I thought this question would go right along with that. Hehehe! Thanks!
Ive only gotten as far as purchasing some materials I need to start my christmas stuff. I have to finish all the things Im making for my daughters wedding before I start. Oh Dear!! So much to do, So little time.....LOL
It you have the materials that is a good start. Everything goes to the wayside when there is a wedding in the family - so please share some of what you are creating in the PROJECT section to inspire all of us.
well i must admit to doing christmas stuff all year i see some thing i like and do it and put it away so when the time comes every thing is done to many kids and grands not to be organised, they all know the get homemade not brought from me if they get shop brought they think they are not special..
That is the way to do it - for sure. Keep on stitching and making them feel special.
I've GOT to use a Christmas Jelly Roll THIS YEAR! I've had it long enough. Jan
Jan, that is wonderful - have you shared a picture of it in PROJECTS, if not please do.
Our first GrandBaby is due early January so I am busy knitting garments for sizes 0-3,3-6,6-9,etc.I also have some Knitweave blankets done.
For family xmas presents: T shirt embroidery for one DS and exhard drive bags for two other DS, Table cloths for DD and DILs.That leaves 3 other DH,DS and SIL that I have to still think about.
I like to have all ready before December.
Happy Stitching!
Bev, you have been busy - please share pictures in PROJECTs to inspire the rest of us. Keep on stitching indeed.
Have been making Christmas ornaments for a couple dozen nieces, nephews and grandchildren of special friends for years. Purchased angels from Sonia Showwalter for some special gifts and will probably use her alphabet ones for several more of the girls, still working on boy designs. Haven't actually made any yet, but when summer turns to fall, will find the time.
Marilyn, it does seem like you have everything planned out and that is so wonderful - can't wait to view pictures of your handy work in PROJECTS. And I know you will find the time in the fall, too.
Not getting far yet, I'm working on a crochet afghan for my friend's 50th birthday next week. How about you?
I would love to see a picture of your crochet afghan, soon. As for me - I have some things done and working on others - it is an on-going process - month by month. Thanks
Wow! 158 days so soon. will need to get started. Hugs sally
Sally, yes - it is soon - I have one project that has been eating at me to get to - so that one is on my agenda to get done really soon. Hehehe!
Christmas is sort of like cooking for me;first, I go through all the cookbooks I have, then I eliminate most by the missing ingredients, and finally, I 'm all tired out from all the research, lol. Well, I'm sure you've guessed by now, not much on the Christmas menu yet, hehehe.
Hehehe - well I hope when Christmas gets here you can look at the menu and get it all prepared on time.
Christmas well yes it is an ongoing project i have many ideas but other things seem to crop up and jump the waiting line apart from that i am making 8 "Ham Bags" christmas in Australia is Summer and Cold Leg of Ham is definately on the menu....will post a picture when i have some finished...soozie
I would love to see one or more of you 8 "Ham Bags" - that sounds interesting. And you are right - it is always ongoing and life does get in the way - from time to time.
I start in January,If you have a look at moosebstiching you will find some great in the hoop christmas stockings i have made fifteen now. Lots of great gift in the hoop projects on this site.

Lenamae
Lenamae, good luck with the new quilt show and the hopefully doll show - share some of what you are making in PROJECT to inspire us, too.
Well Shirlene as I have only just begun what could be called my summer holidays - (that is if the UK was having a summer and not a constant downpour). I might think about it in 100 days time.
Caroline, I see - well - I do hope you will leave enough time to get everything done dear one.
Got back from my friend's house in California, and so glad to see you back!!
I don't want to talk about it...... ha, ha
Angie, that is fine with me - glad to see you and that you still have a good sense of humor - Hehehe!
So far I have made 4 sets of tea towels of 4 each. I have also made six sets of nativity lace (12 in each set). I have lots of other ideas. How about you Shirlene? What are you up to? Hugs, Mary
Mary, you have been busy - that is a lot - keep on stitching you will get through it. As for me - I have done an item here and there - I have had a dry spell for a bit and need to get back to work and with all that everyone has shared - I believe I am inspired. Thanks
Really?? I am so not even thinking of Christmas this early-but then again I don't do sewing/embroidery projects for Christmas. Christmas is still 5 months away,it's July time for summer vacations then back to school shopping...I have to admit though-sometimes I wish I could think that far ahead, the wish doesn't make me wanna do anything tho' LOL ~linda~
Linda, when I saw your avatar I thought you were dlmds (Sally) - she has had that one for a long while.
I do wish you luck with all the projects that you are working on and please share them in the PROJECT section to inspire us all.
i have thinking 1 table runner and some ornaments Maria
Maria, that is wonderful - I hope you share pictures of them in PROJECTs, if you have not already.
It is scary to think that Christmas is just about around the corner again. I will have to get a move on my projects and all the plans that I have been making towards Christmas. Hope you are all in tune. Happy day.****
Oh please don't let it scare you - allow it to inspire you to get into it. Happy day ****4U2
Christmas? I'm still waiting for summer!
You can have some of my summer, Martine. It's been hot for Erie, 95F, humid, 75%, sticky, but drought conditions, no rain. What a strange year this has been!
Martine,so sorry that the weather isn't working out for you this year. I hope that when you can - you can get to your list of things to get to. Love!
I have to admit I have plans on making my gifts early. Some I get to and some I don't. I did make some shirts for the boys and bags or the girls and even have them in the boxes to wrap. Progress, not perfection.
Shirts for the boys and bags for the girls is a great start. And it is always progress, not perfection.
I can't get motivated, lol. I asked another cutie to do the only thing I have in mine, lol! Thanks Shirlene!
I am already in climate on Christmas. The factory this already at full blast.
A great mine hug dear for friend's day!
This was to 1° the mounted being. (With 12 meters of height)
Wow, that's fantastic, Dilceia! 12 mt high???
Congratulations for the great job!
Hugs, Lidia
I am thinking about making holiday and nativity battery tea light covers for my boys and their families and table runners. Not sure yet what else I will do. Guess I'd better stop thinking and start stitching.
They sound lovely - when you get them done - take a picture and share it in PROJECTS with us to inspire.

Here in U.K. we are still waiting for Summer,Have you started any projects yet, what is on your list?Got scared when I saw your question.I need some sun.
We are getting some summer here. I have ongoing projects all year for Christmas - I can't seem to shake the idea - if I don't make something each month - I will be way behind come Christmas. Don't get scared of my question, ever.
I have started! I am making small stockings to send as xmas cards. have made 12 already!
Yikes, Lique! That's some under taking! Are they cute little ones you've posted in projects?
Yeas Will be sharing them as soon as I have some more time. Helping my daughter move at the moment and then will have my Mother In Law staying for 2 weeks. After that I hope to have some me time again.
WHAT ?! Still 158 days ??? So many plans & projects & ideas...so less time..better start soon...
Linda, you are so funny - thanks for the scared monkey, too. I do hope you start soon - you might not get them done in time - I never do.
You got me started, yesterday I sewed the first thing which was on my list : the nice FSL 'joy-peace' candle holder. Need to make a secound one for on my table, then I want to try a xmas stocking, .....
