I have, as Im sure like many other Cute Members sat back and read over recent weeks the comments "I miss the daily questions or jokes......... There are 20,000 plus members to this site who all joined because of one common reason....Embroidery. Hence the name cuteembroidery.com, not cutejokes.com or cutedailyquestions.com
For those that wish to visit this site for the daily questions and jokes, you can still have them, just post them in the personnel section. Leaving the public tab for embroidery. Its that simple :)
Thank you, you've expressed quite well the feeling of the majority, as well as the site owner.
Can we stop that childish stuff. This is not about adult, this is the behavior of small children, Please behave then as an adult!!
I miss the jokes also, but have found a few in the Personal tab. My question for the moderators is: why are the Happy Birthdays still in this section? Shouldn't they also be posted in the Personal tab, since they have nothing to do with embroidery and sewing? Just wondering if there is a double standard here.
Things are still being sorted out. At the time Personal was created, most felt that birthdays should stay in Public, that question was asked years ago. We'll see how this is decided. It's Veronika's site & she may run it as she sees fit.
I too miss the jokes. It was the light of my mornings. I hope they come back. we need a little light humor now and then.
Please understand the time & expense involved in running a website with a forum. Things can't be created free out of air. This is still a business site, not an entertainment site. Revenue from purchases keeps it here, not jokes. Please use Personal for non-embroidery/craft related posts. It's really not rocket science, just courtesy to the site owner & other embroiderers.
non-embroidery/craft related posts. It's not rocket science, just courtesy to other embroiderers & the site owner, who set up an embroidery site, not a chat room. Thanks.
If you look at the top of this page you will see three links to jokes, where I am sure you will get more than enough to satisfy your needs.
The jokes were taking over community and leaving no room for real community sharing.
There are hundreds of groups for people wanting to share jokes and you are bound to find lots of stand up comedians on YouTube.
This site is primarily for Embroidery and other crafts so please respect the site owner's wishes and stop trying to force her to comply with yours.
If you want a group for jokes you can always start your own.
It seems it takes HOBNAIL BOOTS before some messages sink in.
There is no objection to putting jokes in Personal. As Meganne said, the site was set up for embroidery & other crafts, to offer real-time help for design & machine problems. Please respect that plan, & those who come for help.
I don't miss the jokes because I've just read them in the personal tab. Mariejooste has two on the first page and Lorelye could do the same and put her question of the day in this tab. I don't see a problem, but if we get 'our questions' and 'our answers' back it will help . Jan
I also miss the jokes so if you haven't run out please come back and post them again. Haven't had a good laugh since the last one was here. Juanita
If you miss jokes, prayer requests, pictures of grandkids, etc. it's probably because you're not going to the Personal tab. All those things are there, and many more. It's not a problem to put things like that in Personal, that's why Veronika gave us that tab several years ago. The Public forum was intended for embroidery help, the other tabs created so people looking for embroidery help could find it right away, and not have their post lost in many pages of other postings. The Personal tab is the more literally 'personal' side of the forum, and all the things you're looking for fit very well over there, nothing has to be lost. Just click on Personal and post jokes, baby pictures, whatever, it was created just for that kind of sharing. Use it, and enjoy! Hugs, Marji
If people don't want to post in Personal, that's their choice, Sandy, they are certainly free to so so. This is an embroidery site first, that's what it was set up to be, not a chat room.
I miss jokes, prayer requests, rejoicing posts also. We are not just embroidery and sewing. We are social beings and enjoy supporting each other.
Seems to me it depends on who posts what here. It appears one of my recent messages disappeared. It shows on google search but not on site. Feels like censorship.
Sandy
I thought these posts were being placed in the personal tab so you should still be able to find them.
Click over to Personal, you'll find what you're looking for. The personal tab was kindly created by the site owner for just that reason. It's the place for prayer requests, personal sharing.
Sandyqueen, if your post disappeared it was obviously because the owner did not approve of it. And she HAS the right to censor anything on HER site, especially if she believes it is inciting discord.
Get used to it!
My posts disappear all the time, then reappear, disappear etc. So it's not being censored. Over the past few months there have commonly been post from people asking about their posts disappearing. Hopefully this problem will get fixed. Sometimes refreshing helps.
It will be very pleasant to have our daily joke back. I really miss these jokes. They brightened my day and made me feel on top of the world.
I miss the daily joke. They always brightened my day. Hope they will come back.
thank you all sew much for your kindness ladies I too miss doing them. Maybe I can do them on the weekends do you think that would cause any problems?
I don't think anyone would care if you started again, they would rather they be put in Personal section and not Public. That is my impression.
I agree, that there would be lots less negative comment if they were placed in Personal -at least until/unless we get a different tab that's a better fit :)
I really miss them too!!! It gave me a chuckle every day. I also wish we could have them again, if some don't want to read them they can ignore the post. I ignore ones that don't affect me. Hugs, Judy
