I had this trouble and I found that my bobbin had a tiny nick on the rim and it was catching the bobbin thread and causing it to make great thread nests and loud noise. I put in a new bobbin after cleaning all the bobbin case and it sewed like a dream. Hugs Joyce
Poor you I know the feeling It took me an whole afternoon to get the tension right in my machine ( and that was a new one) But it is working well mow so persevere. The funniest was that the boss of the shop I bought it came out a few day later to have a look at it. I showed hime how the first sew outs were and he said: That is a tension problem !!!!
I would try a little drop of oil as that is quite a long time for your machine to sit unused. I feel so desperately sorry for you. Hugs Sarah.
Just a thought. IF your machine has been in storage for a while, is there any chance that it could have been a little bit damp? If so, it may need a thorough lubrication. I live in a damp climate, and have to oil my machines and if they sit for long, oil them again before I can use them. I hope you find an answer!
I have that problem when little threads get caught in behind the bobbin or back behind everything. Even a little bitty piece of a thread can wreak havoc.
Also, try a new bobbin. I have a few that just give me no end of grief, so they get tossed. I hope it turns out to be something very little!! Good luck!
I had some troubles and sometimes just turning the machine off and going back to it later seems to be all it needs. I too changed needles, thread, cleaned, oiled, took it all apart. no luck, then after it rested for a spell, I tried it again, it worked fine...
Good luck!
I put the case in incorrectly a few times and yes it make lots of noise. Hope it is resolved soon! Live Laugh Download Stitch!
It sounds like you have a lot of factors going on here - I wish you luck and please let us know - what you found out it was.
Sorry to hear you are having problems. Hope all is well when you try again. Shirley
Maisie, have you had it ALL apart? I had a problem once where a tiny piece of shredded thread got into the guts beneath the whole bobbin case. I had taken the bobbin out, cleaned & oiled the case, kept having the same jamming. Finally took the whole thing totally apart, the thingy that holds the bobbin case, I mean, and there was a bitty bit of thread stuck in there but good. Cleaned that out & it worked. I don't even know how it could get all that way in there, but it did. Also, once I had a tiny tiny burr on my plastic part of the bobbin case from where the needle grazed it. My dealer found that, I couldn't even feel it. He used an emery board on it, worked fine after that. Best of luck, this is such a pain when this happens & you just don't know why! Hugs, Marji
Sound like thread might be caught up somewhere. Sometimes they are downright sneaky! If you've rethreaded the entire machine and made sure the bobbin case is clean and perhaps tried re-positioning where your thread sits, you may need to take a nap, let it have one too, and try again refreshed. I hope you find it's 100% better when next you try.
I feel your frustration Maisie, I had problems with my bobbin case only this week. I just cleaned everything out and put in new needle, refreshed everything and turned it off overnight. When I came back to it in the morning, it came on and worked perfectly, go figure! Love Chris
P.S. I hope you can get it going.
I am hoping if I get time to look at it tomorrow it will be OK like yours not sure if they over heat I had been using it about 4hrs
